Introduction: Carlo Roxas

I would like to make my first post as an introduction of myself like what I did in the mailing list.

First off, I am Carlo Roxas, a 22 years old corporate drone in a BPO in Makati City. I work as a Department Manager under the IT Division of our company. Currently I am part-time blogging at http://carlotech.net tackling Technology and some rants and ramblings.

I will post Technology-related articles here most of the time and sometimes with regards to other topics I think is worth discussing :)

From Hobby Blogging To ProBlogging

I started blogging last 2003 although I was already staying on the net since 1999 as webmaster.

At first blogging for me was just hobby. A hobby that somehow changed my writing skills from dumber to dumb. A hobby that sometimes used as a way of expressing what I feel to someone.

10 Things I’ve Learned from Blogging

  1. Coming up with ideas for a blog post can be sooo exhausting.
  2. When the most brilliant ideas manifest themselves in your fragile mind, you’re either in a situation where you can’t go online or even take down notes, or you’re too lazy to open your computer and type your mind away.
  3. Given enough time, your blog will attract admirers, stalkers, and vandals. Hooray.
  4. Your ex is reading how bitter your life is right now. She’s evil.
  5. No matter how good you think you are in writing good material, there will always be better writers writing better material a few clicks away. And it makes you sad.
  6. Earning money from your blog is not an exact science. It’s a mix of chance and divine intervention.
  7. Whoever you think is not reading your blog, probably is.
  8. A pretty blog will only hold visitors for a few minutes. Content is where it’s at, yo!
  9. One entry is all it takes to set your blog on fire, negatively or positively.
  10. If you can’t come up with a good idea for a blog post, the good ol’ “10 Things…” list can always save your day.

Baddie learned these things from his numerous old blogs, and will probably learn more with his current blogs: LongBox and Baddieverse. He’s also spreading the blogging bug to the rest of the UPLB community at Go LB!
