e-Lections 2: The Power of Text
In a previous post, I had discussed on how to take Philippine elections into cyberspace as a tool to prevent fraud. Of course, the discussion was not exactly as detailed as I would have liked — blame it on weekend “katam” (that’s “sloth” to you non-Noypi speakers) — so perhaps later the post could be amplified. Kudos, by the way, to visitor Arbet who pointed out some useful details on the identity validation and ballot mechanisms.
In this post, I’ll be talking about a brainwave a friend had… and what a revolutionary idea it is. Given that the e-Lection infrastructure is set-up (with particular emphasis on identity validation), there’s one more method of execising the right to suffrage that can and will empower the citizenry:
e-Lections via cellphone.
A Plea to Manny
I have long ago thrown away the memory of the incident that made me a “controversial blogger” because of my callousness and disregard for other people’s feelingsStill, it isn’t my fault that a certain online tabloid sensationalized the blog entry and made it sound twisted. I have them to thank for the harassment.. It’s true, I do not like Philippine boxing champion Manny “Pacman” Pacquiao and his sport, and that will not change. But it has nothing to do with the issue at hand: Pacman wants to become a politician. I’m impressed. Not.
Dislike for Pacman aside, I wish he wouldn’t seek for any elective post this coming May elections. I’m saying this not because of his incapability to handle such a big responsibility (Disclaimer: I did not say this – other people did), but because he’d be brutally and blatantly used by the trapos for their own greedy wants, and maybe even someday become one of them. This isn’t an issue of money, but rather, of power – power over the people who look up to him as their hero, in more ways than one.

I’m really against Death Penalty! Humans are just not that accurate to judge whom deserve to die. Sapat na ang habang-buhay na pagka-bilanggo para magdusa ang nagkasala. Leave it all to God.

Scene 1: I was walking on a very narrow, tunnel-like passage.
Jonathan: Thinking – “Hmmm, … What am I doing here?”
Scene 2: There are two monk-like bald men walking just ahead of me. The leading one is about six feel tall, white complexion, large body built and chubby, while the other one behind him is about five feet tall, while complexion, large body built and chubby. They look like not Filipinos or with white-American blood on them. The both wear cloak, just like what monks are wearing.
The shorter man is shouting and sneezing with his face facing the white side wall (neatly painted with white). The taller guy is walking calmly and straight, acting like a real monk.
Jonathan: Thinking, feeling odd – “Hmm, .. Are they monks!?”
Tall: Looking straight ahead, talking silently – “It’s our lucky day!”
Small: Walking cool, grinning hideously – “You damn right! Heeheee!”…. please have a visit for a complete piece…
Traffic at your Blog
Do you know some way how to launch your blog to your fellow bloggers.
Getting traffic from our own blog is always one of the bloggers dream. We might ask ourselves a question. What is the sense of a blog if nobody reads it? On my experience on making this blog in PR3, What I did is to leave my url in any place It might be, I mean if I am reading another blog with the same interest as mine, I will just leave and track a comment that I have posted.
Another method is by joining a group blog. A group blog will definitely add on your external links and that will make a good standing on your technorati. As well as at Google Ranks.
Joining in site which aggregates your post will help you also…
Right now I belong to the following group blogs
Your blog must also be something that will last. That even after a year, there might be a possibility that someone might be looking for the information that you have shared.
And of course, A link exchange is very good and I might say the best since you will gather some new friends with this method
. So maybe some of you who might read this blog wanna have some link exchange just email me at dexfamily at gmail dot com
or visit my site because I want to get lots of friends. I will also offer a link exchange on my Techathand blog also.

1. Where did you grow up, and what made that place special?
I was raised by my late grandparents in this remote place called Padre Burgos, Southern Leyte. This is a coastal town of which the famed Limasawa island is a part of. We had this nice concrete bungalow fronting the sea from where you can see the mountains of Surigao in the far horizon. The place was horrible during the typhoon season but it was completely perfect during the rest of the year since we always went boating and I caught this little shells and colorful little fishes during low tide. Everything was special because it was the closest thing to nature one can get. I actually slept hearing the waves lapping on the shore.
2. What was your favorite tv show, cartoon, or children’s show growing up? What did you like about these shows that made them your favorite?
Growing up, we didn’t have any TV! Just this transistor radio from where we heard the news and all these dramas dubbed in Cebuano.
celebrities running for public office…
Ara, Edu, Cesar, and Goma running for public offices i can understand… they are celebrities — ergo, popular — and who wouldn’t want to be associated with popular people?? they may not know anything about politics in general, and serving in particular, but you can’t fault traditional politicians for wanting to have celebrities in their tickets, can you?? and what better way for celebrities to cement their popularity than by running for public office??
but popular sportsmen?? sure, they know life… they were once like us, anyway…
