OFW: Bayaning Taksil
Bayani nga bang matuturingan
Kaming mga nagtaksil sa bayan?
Perang inilaan sa kaban
Anong patutunguhan?
Di ko mawaring isipin
Kami rito ay alipin
Ngunit kung babalik dyan sa atin
Ano ang aming kakainin?
Random acts of kindness
Did you know that this week is “Random acts of kindness” week?
I read about this in this month’s edition of Metro magazine. One lady was sent out into the world to accomplish random acts of kindness to people she encounters and then write about the experience.
It is interesting to note that while some appreciate an act of kindness, many are skeptical of the motives behind it. The writer recalls being looked at strangely when she started picking up the clutter left at a table by a group who ate there. They appeared to think she was psycho or insulting but somehow, being kind was not at the top of their minds. I guess they would never think of doing that so cannot imagine why others would without any ulterior motive.
One True Love-sick!
So my immune system has decided to break down again. I’m fine, but I’ve been bedridden for the past 2 days because of a fever that reaches 42C. It’s UP Fair, and I’m in bed – well, in front of the computer to fulfill my Blogathon duties – and it’s unfair! Huhu! Sad, pathetic me. To not notice the dragging hours, I’ve been reading an autographed book by Bo Sanchez, whom I’ve met at the Blog Parteeh last month, called How To Find Your One True Love. I’m not much of a Christian but…
I chuckled through many pages, and agreed with most. Such a delight to read! It’s not the usual Christian books that tell you “[to] wait for whomever God will give you”, or “you don’t have to find him for he will find you”, or “God will provide, so stay tuned, lounge around, blah blah blah” craps I’ve read in the past. It’s “Yes, God will provide, but take responsibility for your future! Do something! Make a choice!” This should be a wake-up call to those “over-spiritualists” who know nothing but boast their faith in their God and leave everything (Everything – as in everything! As in they do nothing!) up to Him, but bemoan the fact that they don’t seem to be getting anything. And most Christians I know shove their “faith” up my ass every time they think I do something wrong – like not going to church, for instance. Uh-huh. As I’ve always said, most of them are just a bunch of religious hypocrites. This might strike a cord or two, but I’m done with those stuffs I keep hearing from people. It’s annoying, really.

reader comment re Manny Pacquiao
bjmaduro today commented on politics is not for you, Manny but it gave me a very big headache simply reading it… i am not in the habit of giving advices to my commenters, but i’d make an exception to this one…
you may have valid points in your comment [and indeed, you have], but it would have been easier on the eyes if you’ve used paragraphs… the ENTER key is right there by your right hand, use it!!
ok, now that we have that out of the way, let us dissect this very long essay and answer it point-by-point…
