Full versus Partial RSS Feeds
There’s been a long running debate on the use of full or partial feeds. Some bloggers believe that partial feeds is the best type of feed to use while others think the opposite and that full feeds is the way to go. This is quite a confusing topic.
A couple months ago, I was debating with myself whether to use partial feeds or full feeds. Since late last year, my feeds were all partial because I was using the tag. This feature cuts off posts in RSS feeds even if you specify full text in your Reading > Syndication Feeds options. I guess I’m getting old, coz I totally forgot that I had the Excerpt Reloaded plugin which I have been using in previous themes. What this plugin does is if a post does not contain an excerpt, it cuts off your content to a specified length and displays that in your index page. With this plugin, you don’t have to use the tag. Now I have full feeds since I’ve re-installed and re-activated the Excerpt Reloaded plugin.
Yummy Silvanas
I am a certified chocoholic. I do not like desserts that are pale, pastel or white… well not when I have a choice. And most of the time I do not prefer it even when its the only choice. I do not like butter cake, white chocolate, sans rival, polvoron… and the like. So it was a surprise when I fell in love with the most awesome Silvanas from Nueva Ecija.
Back From The Dead
Did you miss me?
I sure do hope so. My readership has gone down the drain, as evidenced by the counter on the first sidebar. And this is wholly not my fault, though I’m partly to blame. But only a little.
By the time this entry is posted, the blog would have been back online. At least, acceptably online after being a few days M.I.A. (Missing In Action). And it also means I got my sanity back.
Well, I’ve lost it when after 3 days of blogging abstinence due to Saturday Badminton, 24-hour Sunday duty and Monday clinic, I found out that I’ve lost my blog. Actually, all 3 of my blogs. And all my private files that I’ve uploaded in my server. What the F**king hell?!?! What did I do this time? I thought of the day when I tweaked my template. Nah, it couldn’t have been that. This is too magnanimous to be caused only by some simple nitpicking.
I emailed my web hosting provider to ask for some assistance. Here’s what she told me via email:
Enable Firefox Spell Check in WP 2.1
For those of you who use Firefox, I’m sure you’re familiar with it’s inline spell checking feature. Wordpress has it’s own spell check option but I never use it because of Firefox’s automatic inline spell checking. It helps me when I write or proofread my drafts. Makes it easier and faster because it immediately underlines a misspelled word with a red line.
However, some Firefox users are having problems with the inline spell checking function not working with the new editor in Wordpress 2.1. I found out from this blog, that this problem is caused by one of the default settings of the version of TinyMCE that is being used by Wordpress.
Blame the Brazilians
The bikini was invented by the French but apparently the string bikini was revolutionalized by Brazilian model Rose de Primo. The reason being the lack of a proper bikini to wear to a photo shoot.
Now in order to successfully “wear” the string bikini, one must accompany it with… you guessed it! A brazilian wax! So goes the history of the brazilian and ever since, women have relegated themselves to a lifelong torture where hot sugar wax and cloth strips are used to pull out the stubborn skin to produce smooth and silky bikini lines.
Pukka Pineapple with Bashed-Up Mint Sugar
Back home, I can pick a peeled pineapple from any corner of Naga City. When I moved to Makati City, I have switched to canned pineapples which is considered nutritonally inferior to fresh and frozen counterpart. The reason was… I didn’t know how to peel one.
Last year in Shopwise, a small DOLE stand (hey this is not an advertisement) pop up in one corner of the fruit section. I watched the attendant as he peeled and sliced, placed in a styro plate and plastic-wrapped the fresh and golden pineapple in a snap. It created a theatrical action for me. I was amazed and took home a plate of Dole’s Tropical Gold Pineapple.

Campaign ads on your cellphone
Cell phones and SMS are now widely used for many purposes. Opportunists find a weapon through cellpones to spread scamming activities, promotional campaigns, and sending many unwanted text messages to defenseless subscribers. On the good side, cell phones and SMS have helped resolved a number of crimes.
With the coming of the May 2007 national elections, campaign ads will add to the “functionality” of your cell phones. The Commission of Elections (COMELEC) has not yet issued guidelines about this so the National Telecommunications Commission (NTC) said that they had no choice but to allow the candidates to send campaign ads through short messaging service.
