It is very refreshing to read stories of local government units taking the initiative of really making a difference in their localities. I’ve heard of GALING POOK before but I didn’t really pay much attention about it. I thought it was just another attempt of the (national) government to prop up its image. But I guess I was wrong.

The Origins of the Easter Egg
This Easter Sunday, let me take you on a ride in history as we discover the origins of the easter egg.
It all started with the Easter Bunny, which was called a “hare-spirit†before. Since hares had lots (and I mean lots!) of litter, most cultures regarded it as a symbol of birth and fertility. The custom of hunting for easter eggs began with this, since children believed that rabbits laid eggs in the grass. OMG! So much for parents telling kids crappy stories.
It’s My Blog Juice, What’s Yours?
Finally got my own Honda XRM motorcycle out of my blogging earnings. This is my first bigger aquisition ever….
Value Adding Blogs = High Traffic
I read several posts about SEO but my finite mind have not grasped yet it’s fullness. I’ve met some bloggers, and they too talked about these 3 letter phenomenon that can bring fortune to those who knew how to manipulate use it.
Am blog hopping and found this interesting post on building high traffic blogs. The approach shares my value and is far different from what I have read so far. More important than SEO, he believes, the added value your blog give to readers is far more important than key words.
Read the insights and let me know if it makes blogging sense
Easter Thought: Freedom Of Religion Or Freedom From Religion?
In a democratic society, like the Philippines, the “freedom of religion†is guaranteed, and people have the choice what to believe and what not to believe. As a result, our society have different variations of faith, compelling some sectors not to believe on anything. And in the middle of all of these, a new advocacy emerged, that is the “freedom from religionâ€.
There is a difference, though, between the two freedoms, the first freedom (of religion)– people have the freedom to express and explain what they thought is right. In the process, they may be able to convince others to join their belief or non belief.
On the other freedom (from religion), people are regulated to express their faith publicly, out of respect to the sensitivity of other beliefs.
Another Geeky Talk
The 48 hours of CSS Naked Day came and went — and not without a hitch. Aja Lapus’ plugin clashed with some of the ones I’m using, and I had to find quick workarounds on some problems for it to work. Heck, it didn’t even work at first. And when I fixed it, Misteryosa was naked…and so was the title bar. Good thing I was able to fix it again. But, if none of you ever noticed, some of the pages just loaded half of the content. One person said that my contact form wouldn’t work, but someone else was able to use it when she asked for help on a Cutenews error she was having. It was, frankly, a horrible naked phase.
Still, I had a blast getting naked. It might be pointless for some people, but it’s still a nice and creative way of promoting web standards. *achoo* And also a nice way of catching a cold. Not kidding. I’m grandstanding Rudolph the red-nosed reindeer with my more impressive big red nose. :cute: Should I blame myself for having a sudden burst of inspiration for voyeurism?
