Earth Day On Blogosphere

As I hop around the blogosphere, am kinda surprise that only a few, if none at all, Filipinos, that blogged about “Earth Day”. On this note, allow me to discuss more about the subject and refer you to other bloggers to get a different perspective.

“Hands that Help Build a Nation” now online at Akomismo!

Over at Akomismo, the “Hands that Help Build a Nation” campaign has begun! It is a revival of an early 90’s nation building campaign which is composed of a series of 11 episodes. Each episode is 1 to 2 minutes long and focuses on the good work done by NGOs.

Even though these clips come from a different time — more than a decade ago — its message remains the same as our challenges are even greater now.
People make a nation work.

Join us from April 22 to May 12 as a new episode is added every two days. Engage the project by commenting and even contributing your own videos and stories of nation-building.

Do Follow the DoFollow List

Isa daw ‘tong Movement kaya tara isulong natin ‘to ng tuloy-tuloy :D    Tulad ng Technorari Favorites Exchange, nakita ko rin ‘to kay Manila Mom.  Marami talaga nakikita kapag nagb-bloghop. Kung anu-ano. Sangkatutak!

Kelangan nga pala ‘to:

Andy Beard’s instructions on how to remove the NoFollow for comments from the html of my Blogspot template. He has instructions for Wordpress and other formats, as well.

Kapag OK na yan, eto naman ang mga susunod:

These are the instructions: (Start copying here.)

1. Write a short paragraph at the beginning of your post and link back to the blog that put you on the list in the paragraph. This isn’t a suggestion. You need to break up the duplicate content. Someone took the time to add you so the least you can do is give them an extra link back.

2. Copy the list of originals below COMPLETELY and add it to your blog. If you would like a different keyword for your blog then change it when you do your post and it should pass to most blogs with that keyword.

3. Take the adds from the blog that added you and place them in the “Originals” list.

4. Add at least 1 new blog that you KNOW is using the DO FOLLOW plugin to the list in the “My Adds” section. (Add no more than 5!) Let the people you’ve added know, so that they can keep the list going!

Tried Offline Promotion

I was really thinking before of putting up a billboard about my blog :-) .Yes! but it’s too expensive and I can’t afford to finance it. However, after acquiring my Honda XRM out of my blogging earning, I eventually think of ways on promoting my blog offline. That is…. (1) by posting the domain below the plate number of the motorcycle; (2) through the business card.

You can take a look at what I did here.

Ultimate Technorati Favorites Exchange

Add to Technorati Favorites

Try natin ‘to. Experiment daw ‘to ni Dosh Dosh at ongoing pa. Nakita ko ‘to sa blog ni Manila Mom at sabi ko masubukan nga :) Nabanggit rin sa post ni Dosh kung ano ang mga benefits of being favorited at nandon din ang main goal ng experiment na ‘to.

Eto ang mga kelangan para makasali dito:

1. i-Add mo daw ‘tong PinoyBlogosphere.Com sa list of Technorati Favorites mo :) Pwede mong iClick ‘to para mas mabilis: Add to Technorati Favorites.

RANT: Globe broadband and the concept of customer service

I ranted a while back about how PLDT service sucks.

Now hear me rant about Globe and its incredible (read sarcastically) service.

You see we had acquired a Globe line just this year – prefering to have a landline and broadband service in the same package. The package offered by Globe was too tempting to pass up as it was just the equivalent of a landline subscription. Cheap eh?

Unfortunately, the Taiwan earthquake happened and much to everyone’s dismay, Globe was the least prepared for the destruction it caused to its internet services.

That quake occurred late last year. It has been more than 3 months and Globe’s internet services has not gone back to what it was before. Couple with that, the modem they provided has conked out on us a thousand times. No luck for us getting that replaced as our million or so phone calls have not succeeded in getting heard.

There is a Troll lurking inside this Blog!

http://www.roadsideamerica.com/attract/WASEAtroll.html

Err.. a Troll is lurking in my dear blog. How did I know that it is a Troll? Geez, what is a ‘Troll’ anyway? Ok, I have Wikipedia to explain it for me.

Troll

A commenter whose sole purpose is to attack the views expressed on a blog and incite a flamewar, for example, a liberal going to a conservative blog, or vice versa. The word trolling means literally ‘to fish’, ie. when the troll fishes for a clashback from the blog writer and/or pro commenters. Many trolls will leave their remarks on multiple posts and continue to visit the blog, sparking spirited debate amongst the blog’s regular readers. Trolls’ verbosity can range from eloquent to crass, although most trolls probably fall into the latter category. Originally, trolling only meant the custom where someone was commenting just to get a flamewar going, by using exaggarated points of view not held by themselves.
