On being a Novo Ecijano and the 2007 Philippine Elections

Despite of the chance that one could get shot while voting in our province, I would still wake up early on May 14 and stand in a line to be able to cast my vote. No, I will not vote for a “dynasty” that calls itself the “New Strength of our Province” nor to the other party that promises the people that they are the future of Nueva Ecija. Because I believe that the strength and future lies within us Novo Ecijanos and not within these politicians who scramble, during the elections, for power while trampling on each and everyone’s basic human rights.

I’m a novo ecijano too (my parents are). I just hate dynasties: the josons, villareals, esquivels etc. I’m not a voter myself but I just think politics there is hopeless- candidates will just opt for vote buying, dagdag-bawas, violence (like what recently happened in Jaen NE).

thanks jena and maki! If ever you guys are gonna vote, vote wisely. er, I don’t even think oe could vote wisely given the limited number of good candidates. Parang lahat corrupt!
