“Maruja, ang landi mo,” sey ni Svelte.
“Hindi noh!”
Break time naming dalawa. Dahil taghirap ang lola mo (daming binayad na bills…CASH mind you), napilitan aketch gumamit ng gift certificate para makabaysung ng malalafang. At dahil P100 worth of 7-11 goods ang kailangang gastusin, medyo marami rin ang nasa plastic bag after kong magbayad. Instant noodle, isang tsitsirya, at dalawang magkaibang green tea.
“How’s the shopping spree, Mare,” tanong ni Svelte na nag-aabang sa akin sa table. Nakapatong na ang kanyang baon.
“It’s splendid,” sagot ko.
After kong lagyan ng hot water ang instant noodle cup, nagsimula na ang chikahan at landian.

While we are confirming reports that Season 2 of Philippine Idol may not be held this year, let’s reminisce the good times when we were watching on TV the best talent show that ever existed. No other big-shot networks can pull off what Philippine Idol has accomplished.
So yeah, continue idolizing your “amateur acoustic singer” who almost had her career squashed because of misbehavior. Continue praising your balladeer who could only sing four Tagalog ballads (anything else is just “soul-less”).
