Unexpected

I never expected you’d give up soon.

I never expected what you’ve been so sure before would fade so quickly.

I never expected that distance would affect you so.

I never expected you’d hurt me, despite knowing what battle scars I’ve had.

You even told me how you are also looking for the right one.

And how we fell for each other, I thought it is going to last this time.

But you let go.

I cannot understand,

how can something you’re so sure of fade away so soon?
