1 Year With The Queer Chef!
Finally, one year with The Queer Chef. Time flies so fast especially when you are enjoying what you are doing. I can still remember my first post in this blog so clearly. The one thing that I regretted though is that I decided not to import my Bend It Like Banana entries. Still the most important is that through this blog I’ve met wonderful and lovely people online. I am giving a big hug to all my readers and blogger friends!
So in the spirit of this celebration I’ll be awarding 5 people who can answer these questions right or getting the highest score!

What am I been doing?
I haven’t made a quite decent post these last few months, my excuse for this is that I am busy with the graduation, application for work, the computer is wasted, and lack of motivation – basically, tinatamad ako.
I actually have a few sensible posts ready to be published, but for goodness, I haven’t finished the – actually, I haven’t even started them yet, except for the titles. Anyway, its in my priority list now, since my vacation will end soon.
And another one, I noticed that I have high hits when I am doing a blog posts about Entertainment – specifically about ABS-CBN. I dont want to make this blog as an entertainment blog, but, well, that’s what happening. But as far as I am concerned, this is NOT an entertainment blog.
Mock Elections Anyone?
The 2007 midterm elections is just around the corner. And in anticipation of the upcoming midterm elections, the Fabulous People of Training (FabPoT), which I am a member of, has exercised – or should I say practiced (as in praktis-praktisan lang), their right to vote. You may remember them sharing their views on whether Richard Gomez should seek a seat in the Philippine Senate in a video that was posted on YouTube about three or four months ago.
We conducted our own mock elections in the spirit of nationalism and genuine concern for our country’s seemingly-hopeless political system. Also, we did this “elections” to produce a forecast based on our own individual votes.

i wasn’t able to properly update this blog. for several reasons.. first, the terms ragnarok, RO, and everything pertaining to some game or another were being blocked by the office firewall, therefore, i can’t access this from there… when i get home in the afternoon from work [office time is from 6am to 3pm], i am so dead tired and sleepy, that was why i can’t even attend sieges during weekdays since i need to go to sleep early… and lastly, i have had no good materials lately that i can write on…
i hope to rectify all of that with this post… so just bear with me, ok?

Reluctant Nurses
Recently, the upsurge in the demand for nurses abroad brought about an unprecedented increase in the number of nursing students. The number of nursing students rose to the extent of overtaking 50% of a University’s population. The top Philippine Universities even saw professionals going back to school just to cash in on the nursing rush.
The sole reason that so many are jumping on the nursing wagon is MONEY. Cold hard Dollars. if you ask today’s nursing students why they want to be a nurse one day, two answers are prevalent: to be able to work abroad and to earn dollars. Sure one or two hypocrites might tell you they want to become a nurse because they want to take care of people but majority are really in it because they want to be rich.
Where have all the Parents gone?
It’s Christmas 2006. The boy living next door is again going to spend Christmas with us. Why, you ask. Well, his mom and dad apparently can’t make it back to the Philippines for the holidays. His dad is an engineer in Abu Dhabi and his mom is a nurse at a Saudi Arabian hospital. It has been years since his parents came back home. Communication was usually through text messaging and the internet. The boy is living a good life though. He has a swimming pool in his front yard, two maids, a huge house, and more money than he could ever spend in his entire lifetime. But the boy is sad. His only companion inside his huge empty house is his ailing grandmother.
