Will Harvey Stay Home?
Do you remember this email?
“Dear Fellow Filipino, x x x Over the weekend, we saw the completion of two major political alliances for this coming Senate Elections that has just began here in the Philippines. x x x Now if all of these 7 things happen during this coming elections then don’t be surprised if I decide to leave this country that I love dearly. x x x Sincerely, Harvey S. The way things are going now, Harvey might just be staying home. Read more at Quick & Random.
Amazing!
It’s Monday today and the word is Amazing! And this morning I woke rather early than usual. It is because I wanted to start my week as a busy bee. I have this ritual, that Monday should be perfectly devoted to work of any kind so that the rest of the week would be productive (I’m a mild OC remember?). At about six am, I did my routine chores; watering the garden; walking my two dogs (Halle and Mielle); feeding the mutt; cleaning their kennel; herding my father’s goats (yeah we have them, those with horns, beards and everything…); and then finally taking a shower and doing what a typical bachelor would do (procrastinate in the bathroom, shave the beards and mustache, and leaving everything on my room just as I wanted them to be). After I ate my breakfast, I went to my review center for my review (of course!), and on the way to my destination, I rode the jeep because my mom, my brother in law and my sister left early with our service leaving me with no choice but to commute. On the Jeep, I had this woman on my left. She was loud in handing her payment for the ride.
EMPATHY BELLY: the best way to educate men about pregnancy
A few days back I watched a show in British television about the next chapter of the life of a famous glamour model and Page3 girl Jordan and Peter Andre. In the program Peter was made to wear an empathy belly and go about doing the activities of a pregnant wife like going up and down the stairs, picking stuff from the floor, sitting in the chair and driving a car, etc. It was quite fun to watch as well as educational.
Â
Indeed the empathy belly is an important tool to show the husbands the physical aspect of how it feels like to have a bump. Invented by Linda Ware of the Birthways Childbirth Resource Center Inc., it took five years of professional testing and evaluation including the analysis by the National Institute of Safety and Health.
Â
It is a tool that has a big impact on the effectiveness of teaching by counselors, nurses and midwives, family planning instructors and childbirth educators. Originally this is designed for the said purpose but ITV television took one step further; to educate husbands or expectant fathers about real difficulty experienced by their pregnant wives throughout the duration of the pregnancy.

Notes On A Saturday
Originally posted in Misterhubs.blogspot.com:
Friday night had segued into Saturday morning but I was still wide-awake, on a mission to find, with the aid of Google, photos of animals (rhesus monkey, preying mantis, horse) for my next blog entry entitled “Local Celebrities and their Amazing Animal Look-Alikes.†By 3 am, I had almost everything I needed (the only one I couldn’t find was Baby Arenas’s look-alike, an albino puma) so I decided to go to bed like the rest of Metro Manila.
Four hours later, I was awake, dry-coughing and feeling feverish like the weather. I sent hubby a text message, telling him “I’m not feeling wellâ€, which, de-coded, meant “I’m sorry. I can’t drive you today like I earlier promised.†He called, said it wasn’t a problem, and we both agreed to meet each other later, around 10 am, my place, after his back treatment.
After the brief phone chat, I tried to re-sleep but couldn’t due to my non-stop coughs, which were beginning to sound like the canned percussion sounds from an old Yamaha organ. With as much energy as a limping zombie, I got out of bed, had breakfast, showered, and waited for 10 am.
Prudence and Madness in Manila Bulletin’s Blog-O-Rama
Who would have thought that Ms. Annalyn Jusay of Manila Bulletin’s Blog-O-Rama will take notice of this lowly doctor’s blog? But then, she did. And I’m particularly flattered and excited that she took notice. I don’t know if my blog is hot stuff like that of Misteryosa and Mae Paulino’s blog, which have also been featured in her column. But then, maybe I do offer some uniqueness in the world wide blogosphere. After all, it is not everyday that one encounters a blogger doctor, right? Haha. I think I should ask Ms. Annalyn why she chose to feature my blog. But anyway, I’m happy to be seeing my own words and header image printed in color in a newspaper.
If you can’t hunt for a Manila Bulletin newspaper at this time, maybe you’d just like to read the online version or just continue reading this post…

Why I Choose to Build Themes from Scratch
It doesn’t take me hours to find that one elusive tag or attribute I have to style. It’s less complicated. It’s easier to remember what I’ve forgotten because I’ve written everything on my own. I don’t have to sift through numerous and mind-boggling codes when all I want is a clean and functional design. I know my own needs which I try to meet. I just do without all those fancy stuff that other themes offer. I’m in charge, so everything makes sense to me. A place for everything, and everything in its place.
