a beginning of another long step
I have read a lot of books on how to discipline a child. I have also observed how children are being taken care of by their parents that end up spoiled and brat. I usually laugh when I remembered how I strive to discipline my child using every book I’ve read. But still, it does not apply to all children.Â
One of the books which interests me comes from Dr. Fitzhug Dodson. You won’t believe me but it was published thirty years ago. I bought it online few years back. I thought HR’s job starts when you establish a company but I was wrong. HR’s more work starts when you have a baby. I learn that discipline is teaching. Good rapport is the foundation. I am weak in this area but my wife seems to master this kind of skill because every time we arrive home, my son automatically goes with her mom. I have noticed this good rapport when my 5-year old son asked me one time to go outside our residence late at night for a walk. I did not dig deeper on why he wanted to go out but I’ve realized that I started to reestablish rapport with my child. What I mean for rapport is spending part of the time with him simply enjoying being together. No commands, requests, lectures or moral messages are being issued. I take a walk together. I am amazed on the questions he raised to me on why he could not count the stars, why the moon is following him including his shadows! Establishing rapport needs to go on continually between me and my child.
Makita kang sakdal laya!

The Philippine flag, symbol of valor, purity and peace, has earned its own place under the sun, because it has been upheld by the Filipino people since the Philippine Revolution of 1898. Stout-hearted brown men carried it fighting side by side with the Americans in the battlefields of Bataan and Corregidor, in the underground movement during the occupation, and for the Liberation of the Philippines.
The tasks ahead for an independent Philippines are tremendous and will require the wisdom, unity, courage, faith and self-respect of free men. With God’s help, we Filipinos will not falter or fail. As President Manuel A. Roxas said… “let us build in this our land a monument to freedom and justice, a beacon to all mankind.”

- Linklove. Anyone care to link this blog with your blog? LinkExchange anyone?
- Sidebar. Wordpress has this widgets option. On the other hand I don’t know how to put my MyBlogLog and Twitter account and other stuff on the sidebar.
- Google Adsense. How can I put my Adsense account in this blog? Plugins for Wordpress 2.0 anyone?
- Blogroll. I have this Blogrolling account but I can’t put it on the sidebar. How do you embed this to the sidebar?
- Footer Contents. Widgets are only available for the left and right sidebar contents but not for the footer. How can I edit it?
I really do appreciate your comments and suggestions for this new blog of mine. If you can help this very makulit person (Hehe

Independence Day: Are We Really Free?
Today marks our country’s Independence Day. But are we really free?
I know I should be proud that our country has been liberated from the chains of oppression from foreigners but I think we may have been liberated but we are not totally free.
And so you may ask me why do I say that we have been liberated but not exactly free. Well, just take a look around you. Do you still see foreigners taking over our land and saying that this country is theirs? No. Because they are no longer here. Literally. But if you do stop and reflect, you would notice that their presence is very much still around. Keep in mind that the forces of foreigners (especially the Americans) still are here. Do you remember the war in Iraq? GMA has decided to send our troops there when in fact it is not our war. So how come our soldiers went there? The Americans needed more power and had Filipino soldiers helping them take their claim over Iraq.

To all couch potatoes everywhere, you will no longer feel obligated to finish those bag of chips. Whether you think that’s a good or a bad things is directly related to your Body Mass Index.
Anyway, everyone has been in this situation: You’ve got a huge bag of chips and your full. Now, unless you have some kind of chip clip, you’re in trouble. Leave that bag like that and it will go stale. If you really want to save those chips, you’re gonna have to go MacGyver on its ass and get some duct tape. Well, that was before – this is now:
