The Secret by Rhonda Bryne (1)
I’m currently reading (on the side) the gift of my blockmates – The Secret by Rhonda Brynes. I’ve only read about a third but I think enough to get a grasp of what the author is trying to share. As a background, the book talks about the secret successful people have been practicing, consciously or not. It’s simply the law of attraction.
The law of attraction starts from your thoughts, your ideas. Your thoughts attract forces to make your thoughts happen. If you’ve read The Alchemist by Paulo Coelho – the book speaks of similar thing – “When you truly want something, all the universe conspires for you to achieve it”. On the positive thought, it says WHATEVER YOU THINK WILL HAPPEN WILL HAPPEN AS LONG AS YOU THINK ABOUT IT. Things to note are (1) you have to be clear on what you want, (2) you have to think about it frequently and (3) you have to believe that even by just thinking about it – it already becomes yours.
The author also notes that the attraction doesn’t consider the DON’T ideas (I coined the phrase) or the negativity. An example is if you always think “I don’t want to fail”, the forces  will understand it as  “I want to fail”. In the long run, if you think about it frequently, you might just fail. In short, the book also emphasizes the power of positive thinking. You have to think positive for positive things to happen.
Your thoughts are the cause and your feeling is the effect. Feelings are important because it tells you if you are on the right track with your thoughts. It’s as simple as if you feel good then your thoughts are positive and you’re on the right track on getting what you want. On the other hand, feeling bad about something means something is wrong with your thoughts. You then have to make a move to SHIFT YOUR THOUGHTS to something more positive or else, you might think negatively too much that to cause it to happen.
Thus, the author suggested of making a list of Secret Shifters to help you divert your thoughts to something positive or “good” in case you find yourself in a negative state of mind.Â
Make a list of some Secret Shifters to have up your sleeve. By Secret Shifters, I mean things that can change your feelings in a snap. It might be beautiful memories, future events, funny moments, nature, a person you love, your favorite music. Then if you find yourself angry or frustrated or not feeling good, trun to your Secret Shifters list and focus on one of them. Different things will shift you at different times, so if one doesn’t work, go to another. It only takes a minute or two of changing focus to shift yourself and shift your frequency. That’s it for now. See, probably a lot of you guys are already practicing the secret unconsciously. The power of positive thinking, the power of ambition, the power of being focused and believing — and of faith. Think happy thoughts.
(Oh, and yes, it’s ok to fail but notice as well how you can easily get on your feet as long as you don’t dwell too much on your failure. — this one I’m saying to myself and those who also need it)
Ciao.

Your review is nice. I think I’ll buy the book.
