Men are Good at Vanishing
Probably those who had been reading my rants about the jerk who recently broke my heart and about some things I hate about men are saying right now, “oh, here she goes again, generalizing all men to be blah, blah, blah…â€
First of all, I have every right to make my own generalizations about men. I don’t impose them on anyone. I merely share my views. And of the numerous jerks I’ve encountered, I have enough experience to draw from to formulate my conclusions, which of course can still change. What do you expect? That I sample all men on the face of the earth so I could say that the majority are, definitely, er… jerks?
And, come on, you guys have also formed your own conclusions about us, women. Why shouldn’t I do it if you guys are doing it too?
Also, it’s called a generalization because it’s applicable to many but not necessarily to all. Maybe those who think my generalizations do not apply to them are the exceptions. Aren’t you glad? You’re a rare species of men!
Okay, that was too long an introduction to my topic tonight which is: men are good at vanishing.
Of the five serious relationships I had, two of those ended due to infidelity on the guy’s part and one ended because the guy claimed to have “suddenly fell out of love†(If it were an itch, I would have believed that he suddenly don’t feel itchy anymore. But love? Preposterous!). And in all those three relationships, breakups were made only via exchange of SMS messages. And even if I asked that we meet so we could have a more formal closure of the relationship, all three refused to do so, for various reasons that don’t have anything to do with the relationship or the breakup.
On Photography Restrictions and Photo Shoot

It’s easy to understand if it were on a privately-owned commercial establishment, museums, military installations, penitentiary and the like but photography restriction in a public park? That I can’t comprehend. This is exactly what happened last Saturday (June 16th) while am with a group of photography enthusiasts in a park fronting University of Makati in Guadalupe, Makati City. We were apprehended and told by the security guard that photographing within the park is prohibited and to do so, we have to secure a permit from their office (it’s 5:00 PM)!

Is Virginity Still an Issue Nowadays?
This is a post written a long time ago. But thought of sharing it with you to know what the young minds think about this.
When Papsie was still my boyfriend, he had this to say when asked about women’s virginity, “Hindi naman importante sa akin kung hindi na virgin ang isang babae. Unang-una, minahal mo siya at niligawan nang hindi nalalaman kung ano ang buong katauhan niya. Nai-inlove ka naman ng di inaasahan, nangyayari iyon na di mo naman alam kung sino talaga ang taong iyon. (It is not important for me if a girl had lost her virginity already to somebody. In the first place you loved the person and courted her not knowing fully who she is. You fall in love unexpectedly, it happens without really knowing first the entirety of the person.)†I was taken aback with those words simply because all the while I had this idea that all men wanted a virgin wife. To this he retorted fast, “Sino naman ang aayaw doon? (Who would not want a virgin wife)†And continued with his opinion that it doesn’t mean otherwise that it is a prerequisite for him.
Odd it may seem for me to hear a man with those words; it had me reflecting whether it is really an issue. The attitude of men towards virginity, I believe, is still universal – that they value it more than women valued men’s. Though the matter is congruent to a country’s culture, tradition and customs, it is still a universal belief that female chastity is a matter of morality.
The Sidewalks of Quiapo

These photos were taken a little after two o’clock in the afternoon; however, imagine how extremely crowded the sidewalk would get during the rush. Such condition, as we know, would eventually proliferate pickpockets, and quite exponentially at that. Furthermore, it wouldn’t be surprising if Avenida Rizal’s sidewalks would also become just as crowded once the avenue is reopened to vehicular traffic.
The Two Basic Types of Pinoy Bloggers

Nagprapraktis akong maglagay ng tattoo. Ok ba? Â
Throughout my whole term as a blogger, it is only when I started Pinoy Blogero that I have fully seen the Pinoy blogosphere as a whole. Because my blog primarily focuses on blogging and the Pinoy blogging community it was only logical for me conduct a mini research of what I will be dealing with.
There are a lot of things that I have learned while conducting my research. Aside from learning that blogging is still not recognized by most Filipinos that are still living offline, I have also learned that the Pinoy blogosphere is too diverse that it can be further classified into different subgroups. These subgroups differ depending on the types of bloggers that fall under it.
In a desperate attempt to fully establish a boundary between these subgroups, I classified them into two simple groups which I have listed below. Keep in mind that these classifications are based on my own personal judgement and analysis of the Pinoy Blogosphere. It is intended to give you a glimpse of the two major types of bloggers that make up the Pinoy blogging community.
Pinoy Personal Bloggers
This particular group of bloggers takes up most of the pinoy blogging population today. I estimate that it could be around a 70% of the overall size of the Pinoy blogosphere.
Pinoys love to talk about themselves and their personal lives. It is because of this reason that many Pinoys end up creating personal blogs. These blogs cover topics that are of interest to the author and they add their own opinions and views regarding that particular topic. This type of blog makes use of either humor or intellect to attract readers.
coffee’s influence
After few minutes of sips, now I know why some people go for coffee.”
My perception on coffee seven years ago was so different that I used to describe coffee as purely caffeine, which could slowly ruin one’s nervous system. I’ve heard a lot of medical advice on the avoidance of coffee as a first step in the treatment of nervous breakdown. My cousin who used to have nervous breakdown said that he avoids coffee because it triggers a negative response of his nerve. If I have not mistaken, I only started taking coffee once in a while in the year 2001 when most of my associates in the organization would invite me for some meetings in coffee shops.
I could not forget my co-participant in one of the seminars I’ve attended in 2006 when she was asked what makes her energetic in a day. “Coffee makes me feel mentally and physically alert the whole day long. I become more productive when I drink coffee. I am addicted to it.â€, she added. There is no single day that she could not drink coffee. She is a Human Resource Practitioner in one of the hospitals in Cebu.
On that day, I’ve learned a lot about coffee. I get to know her not only that she is beautiful (my wife is not a jealous type) but I discover and understand why coffee is important to her. When she feels down and weary, coffee awakens her. Coffee adds also “spices†to her conversation with chronic complainers. That is what coffee means to her.
This is also the main reason why coffee shops bring in lots of customers in a day! When I started drinking coffee this year, I tripled my intake in a day where I usually taste different brands of coffee. Coffee shop is another option. I seldom go to coffee shops to cut down cost but I never miss a sachet of coffee wherever I go. Last week, I bought coffee recipes e-book online so that I can also experience how these Alexander expresso, Canadian coffee, Amaretto coffee, Black forest coffee, Café Au Lait Luziane and others would spark me off.
