Men are Good at Vanishing

Probably those who had been reading my rants about the jerk who recently broke my heart and about some things I hate about men are saying right now, “oh, here she goes again, generalizing all men to be blah, blah, blah…â€
First of all, I have every right to make my own generalizations about men. I don’t impose them on anyone. I merely share my views. And of the numerous jerks I’ve encountered, I have enough experience to draw from to formulate my conclusions, which of course can still change. What do you expect? That I sample all men on the face of the earth so I could say that the majority are, definitely, er… jerks?
And, come on, you guys have also formed your own conclusions about us, women. Why shouldn’t I do it if you guys are doing it too?
Also, it’s called a generalization because it’s applicable to many but not necessarily to all. Maybe those who think my generalizations do not apply to them are the exceptions. Aren’t you glad? You’re a rare species of men!
Okay, that was too long an introduction to my topic tonight which is: men are good at vanishing.
Of the five serious relationships I had, two of those ended due to infidelity on the guy’s part and one ended because the guy claimed to have “suddenly fell out of love†(If it were an itch, I would have believed that he suddenly don’t feel itchy anymore. But love? Preposterous!). And in all those three relationships, breakups were made only via exchange of SMS messages. And even if I asked that we meet so we could have a more formal closure of the relationship, all three refused to do so, for various reasons that don’t have anything to do with the relationship or the breakup.
