Raredog Blogging Tips

I still consider myself new or fresh in this blogging thing. I started only last year with completely zero knowledge at all except to write. I envy those young bloggers nowadays because it was in their generation that it had boomed! Imagine even mobile phones now has blogging features!

And since last year I’ve gained little by little information on how my blog will become popular and eventually bring traffic to my site. Here are some of them.

Habla Espanol?

I am from the ciudad de flores, ciudad de Zamboanga. We speak a Spanish creole called Chabacano. Chabacano is 90% Spanish and 10% Tagalog and Bisaya. Recently, I decided to learn a third language. I chose to learn Spanish because of the fact that I know how to speak Chabacano. I figured I won’t have too much trouble with the vocabulary.

The new ‘plastic’ blood

Scientists continue to find ways to deliver better health care to patients; one new innovation is the availability of artificial blood, so called because it is made up of plastic molecules that have an iron atom at their core, like hemoglobin, that can carry oxygen through the body. This new discovery could help to substitute for blood, which is not always readily available in cases of emergencies, especially pointed out was its huge advantage in war zones.

Besides its storage advantage; it is light to carry, does not need to be kept cool, it can be sterilized, and can be kept for longer, the new artificial blood has its advantages over human blood as pointed out in this WikiPedia article.

Why Do You Blog?

Why Do You Blog? This is a question that I asked myself after I have read a chapter from the bestselling philosphical book, Sophie’s World. It was stated there that Philosophers with great minds are curious in nature. It is through asking of questions that they acquire answers and gain knowledge. This has initiated critical thinking and led to questions like the true meaning of life, the chicken and the egg, true purpose of man here on earth, and why Trillanes won the elections.

Being one of those wannabe modern philosophers, I have come up with something worth pondering on. Something Plato or even Socrates haven’t thought of.

Why do You blog?
It is said that success is achieved by setting goals. This is true in many cases, however, in order for us to be able to prepare our set of goals, we must first know which direction we are heading. We can do this by knowing our reasons in what we are going to do. In our case, we should know our reasons for blogging.

People have different opinions and different interests, it is these factors that partly influence our decisions in life. Same goes to blogging. Not everyone engage into blogging just to express their thoughts or their feelings, there are people who see blogging as a different kind of opportunity.

Making it work: working mom’s struggle

I work in the industry of infomation technology. We support several international clients which means my work does not stop when the clock ticks at 5′o clock PM. So although I can physically leave the office, most often than not – work follows me home. Seems like a normal thing for today’s working women, but it becomes a challenge when you have got a husband and two kids to take care of.

And that is why my friends and I had this secret dream of just becoming a full time housewife. We dreamt of cooking and baking with the kids… of taking them to school and meeting up afterwards to go to a salon and get our nails done. Then we pick up the kids and play with them all afternoon before settling down to prepare dinner for the husband who will soon come home. It was a dream life.

Tlaquepaque, Mexico

Tlaquepaque is a highly fashionable suburb less than 10 kilometers from Mexico’s second largest city, Guadalajara, with a hip, up market colonial center with a character and style of its own. A must on any Pinoy tourist agenda. The street of the main shopping area is closed to traffic so that people can stroll and shop at a leisurely pace. The colonial-style streets that remind me of the streets of Intramuros are lined with shops and restaurants.

Midsummer Night’s Dream

Finally summer! Now I can finally relax and savour the short but wonderful days of summer vacay. Though I am not gonna be travelling outside the country since I have tons of stuff to do and besides Odd can’t leave his job. I wasn’t able to go online for like a couple of days even though we recently got internet at the new place. We got this 20 mbps (megabytes per second) broadband promo for like 349 kr (59 USD) per month in comparison to my 3 mbps connection at the countryside home which has the same monthly price but different broadband company of course.

Weird Flowers
These flowers on my Norwegian father’s garden sport sad-like faces.

Anyway, I am back home at the countryside to spend my entire summer probably working on some designs on my online magazine, playing video games and of course cooking new recipes!

Speaking of a new recipe here’s what I concocted recently.
