PBS Logo

I saw the to-do-list of PBS and found out,

that we/you don’t have a logo yet ..

Why is it so?

I mean, there are designers here right?

Why not do a conference just like what we did last night,

regarding the Wika2007 ..

Just a suggestion though ..

Hope I’m not misinterpreted here .. :)

Enough with the Wendy Valdez issues

A CALL. I call for condemning her mistakes, condemning her shortcomings, flaws and frailties and forgive her as a person, as a human…because I, for one, you, all of us, sinned and wants to be forgiven.

An Inconvenient Truth

Last night I woke up to a very very bad dream, a nightmare actually.

In this dream, I was inside a complex which looked like a hospital. Everywhere, you can see cameras and apparently all employees are being monitored on those cameras. I saw a person using a sink and while he was not looking, a hand came out, but then I saw people from a ‘control room’ quickly hiding the hand (through a complicated technology).

Then I saw a room with no windows. I keep on seeing bodies being thrown in that room. The bodies smelled like paint (in the dream the paint was sort of an embalming procedure). Then there were some people who were still alive however there were cloths which were placed inside their system and so they couldn’t breathe. At one time, three of them woke up discovering their situation and looking at each other as if crying out for help.

“Demon Possession”

A cross from my blog, underside.

Today’s mass at the St. Therese Chapel in UPLB talked about the demon possession of a man in a swine’s pit. We’ve all heard this one: some of the pigs ran away, some even drowned themselves to avoid being possessed and so the demon took over the man’s body. I’m not here to elaborate this story because I know we all know this story. But today, the priest who gave the sermon made me feel uneasy.

Tonight at 8:30 pm, the St. Therese Chapel will hold an event to welcome the freshmen, the babies of the university. So, going along with the theme, the priest said that not all demon possessions would mean a demon taking over our bodies. It could take different forms like forming bad habits and forgetting how to act as good citizens and of course, as Christians.

He then told a story about a mother who told him about her boy who entered UPLB. The mother said that when his boy was a freshie, he was good: didn’t do drugs, came home weekly, had good grades and prayed often. But when he became a sophomore, he joined a fraternity and as a result, he came home less and less. Then the boy became an activist and his mother saw him on t.v. being clobbered by a policeman because he was doing a rally. And because he became an activist, his mother saw him just once in that year. When he became a senior, he didn’t come home at all because he joined the NPA and was living in the mountains. The boy couldn’t return home for fear that he might get arrested by the AFP.

Now, the priest’s story got me thinking: is it so evil to join a fraternity/sorority/ organization, or be an activist? Will it damn your soul if you involve yourself in such activites?

Fraternity/Sorority/Organization
In UP, first years are discouraged to join any organization because the university would like the freshies to concentrate on their studies first, above anything else. If the students could manage their time and acads well in their second year, then they could join any group they want to.

Being in UP, it means you have brains. And by that, it means you are capable of thinking for yourself which is good and bad. So before joining any orgs/frat/soro in school, you should think about it really hard. Think about the good points the org/frat/soro can do for you and you for them. Will you be helping other people by joining or will it only eat your time and waste your acads away? Most people join these groups to (1) have more friends and a second family (especially if your away from home), (2) to have connections and (3) to have something socio-civic or academical to spend your free time on. Making yourself busy for the right reasons isn’t bad, but just be sure your ready for it and it will not ruin you.

JOINING ORGANIZATIONS/FRATERNIIES/SORORITIES ISN’T BAD. YOU JUST HAVE TO CHOOSE THE RIGHT ONE/S.

Activism
Activists are the frontliners. In UP, they’re called TIBAK and these people aren’t afraid to debate especially when civic rights are being trampled on. Why is activism bad? Is it evil to fight for your right, to speak your mind and to rally outside snobby establishments that takes advantage of us?

Of course, activism isn’t bad. For one thing, it’s one of those things that’s keeping us afloat. If everyone would keep their mouths shut, who would ever know of the injustices?
The priest’s sermon for today was intended well, I know. But the examples he presented may send out wrong ideas. I have an organization and not once did it do me wrong. It all boils down to your decision, your will to choose what’s good for you. Just trust your decisions, be strong and be decisive. And of course, pray to God that you make the right decisions.

So… Where here… right?

I’m really confused right now. I dont know if I should quit or if I should stay [in my part-time job]. There are times that I felt like quitting but as I kept testing fate, it seems to go against me.

What? Does God want me to break myself into a million pieces? [AN: still havent finished James Fray’s book “In a Million Little Pieces”]

I went into an NSTP seminar recently [before wiritng this blog post], good thing I did not sleep [like I usually do nowadays] or else I would never get the answer….

“Our hearts are NOT fatigued, thats the most important thing!”

-Micheal Jordan of Chicago Bulls

It was when the speaker was showing us the Power to Make a Choice and it’s relationships in establishing leaders anchored by faith. Some of you may have guessed it right, those seminars are the ones you see on TV wherin the speaker is totally into it and oh so praising the Lord. At first it was horrendous to the fact that a group called Christ Youth in Action would be inside a non-sectarian school, but then I saw the heart of it; not only that the thing that they were talking about is true for Christians, but also true for others.

Amen to that.

But that dosent change the fact that I think the other stuff there are corny and so unnecessary, you can energize in other ways than a come-and-articipate-with-us song and dance number!

Before reading this blog entry, I was going to write my resignation letter. But I stopped halfway because my reason is sooo lame.

“I would like to resign my position as a Store Team Member from Mister Donut TriNoMa branch. I would like to be as effective as soon as possible.

I have found out that I have too many responsibilities“

The ones in red are not actually written yet. Why is the reason lame? There is no such thing as “too many” but “too many to handle”. Base on my self evaluation, I can still browse the internet regularly [not rarely] even if I have am a working student….. Therefore the problem is within me.

So I swore to myself that This will be the last time I’ll blog then I’ll make a major comeback! {I still have 3 months. 3 is my monthsary}.

I will give a grandeur of a show. Wish me Luck!

[special mention to this blog entry. I love it!]

Think Positive

I have not always been positive but I try to be. I remember getting a copy of a book with its pages all jumbled up while in high school. I couldn’t sleep that night, worrying about whether I’d get a new copy or not. After that night, I asked myself why I let a small incident ruin my day. From that time on, I vowed to become more positive. The following tips have helped me. I hope they would help you too.

Look around you. There are others with bigger problems and yet they take it in stride. If they can do it, why can’t you? Get rid of self-imposed roadblocks.

Consider the rewards. Are the issues that you face today because of the desire for a better future? Then consider these as stepping stones and not stumbling blocks to reach your goal. You can have your cake and eat it too but it will taste better if you work hard for it.

A Homemaker’s Journey

Since we got the apartment, I’ve been like an uber homemaker. I always tend to have this weekly dinner parties at home and the chance to create more scrumptious meals in a quick and easy way. At the same time I’ve created some nice decorative pieces to place on empty walls in lieu of buying expensive paintings.

decors
By cutting out snippets of an old comics and pasting it on black cardboard I’ve manage to create cheap but chic decors to place on the walls.

Okay, so you are having this dinner party for let’s say 4 people but you don’t really have the luxury of time. The trick here is to come up with something that is simple to make but titilating to your tastebuds. Here are some stuff I made during my dinner party last Saturday.

1. Bacon, Prawn and Vegetable Orgy

Transformers Film Review – Awesome Nonsense

Transforming cars? it could happen…
A shrinking giant cube? someday…
An extremely hot girl who’s into auto mechanics? You must be kidding me.

Transformers – the hotly anticipated Micheal Bay (Armageddon, Bad Boys) film arrives to theaters with a subtlety of an angry 30ft giant robot. If you’re looking for the baddest and awesomest sci-fi ACTION blockbuster, look no further. Thats “action” spelled in full caps, baby!

Expect a near lethal dose of awesome when you first see the robots transform, the battle scenes and the destruction. The crowd clapped and jeered throughout the film, something I never saw happening before in this part of the planet. Its also very funny, particularly with Shia Lebouf. For hot blooded men, theres the ultra super fucking hot, Megan Fox, lets hope we will see more of her(literally!). The graphics are impressive and you will believe they’re really there and not computer generated. An easy thing to overlook is the sound, its amazing! Sound effects and the voice-overs are a huge part why this film rocks.

PBB Triviality!

A U.P. Cebu College MassCom alumni gripes about why the media is not for her. The existence of Pinoy Big Brother (PBB), a deliberately shallow and contrived TV “reality” show, should be enough to discourage more from choosing the media as a career.

But no, I will not continue by indicting PBB as a mere triviality that no one should not bother with. The more than 1,571,556 votes for Beatriz Saw should dispel that notion for beneath the veneer of triviality are some deeper meanings that I have yet to decipher.
