Poverty (Part 3): Corruption of the Young
In my quest to define poverty, this is the third, and hopefully the last, installment of my Poverty series (Part 1, Part 2).I was going home from my enrollment today, when 4 boys about the age of 10-11, jumped to the jeepney from nowhere. I noticed that they were selling peanuts, wearing dirty old rugged clothes and no footwears of any kind.Â
They were talking about something they stole, a cigarette lighter, and then suddenly, shifted, teasing, about their “manoysâ€. Okay, okay, reproductive organ, their penises.
“si jose, sa sobrang liit ng titi, daliri na niya yung jinajakol niya†“kinakantot nga niya yung pusa nila†“parang kasing liit ng titi ng baby yung titi ni RJâ€
Yeah, they seem very offensive to be posted, but I wanted to give an insight to this behavior. As a teacher, I am crushed with this personality behavior. Clearly, from their physical look and actions, they are poor. Social status, here, plays an important factor in developing the young.
The Blog World
Hi guys
I was once used to surf the internet for hours ago this was around three years ago where blogging was at its starting stage.but today when i surf through it everywhere it is Blogging ruling the net
now bloggers are the hothearts among the netizens they are earning bucks portraying the romantic netizins .
Personally i was once tried to make money online but i never succeded i was also thrown away from the programs. after 3 years i returned to test my fortune http://internetmoneysuccess.googlepages.com/home . I feel that there is a lot more to learn from the bloggers and i am learning from them
Bedol: Luck’s Chosen Man

A cross from my blog, underside.
I find it rather insulting that Ruffa, Gretchen and Wendy (PBB2) are getting more attention than Bedol. It’s been almost 2 months since the Midterm Elections and yet we see no end to the Koko vs. Migz issue or to the “Where, oh where are the official municipal COCs of Maguindanao?†melodrama. Instead of the people cursing Bedol for being Garci’s obvious protégé and ruining the supposed credibility of Comelec (as if they still have any), Pinoys, I think, are more into showbiz chika, the release of iPhone, the Transformers or the new Harry Potter movie and it’s 7th book.
After sending out an awful lot of armed men to finally bring Bedol in for questions, the idiot commissioners of Comelec just let him go, scot-free. With all the dire warnings Abalos have given before, Comelec just reprimanded Bedol by ordering him to submit a written report on the lost COCs and all the other election-related stuff the commissioners think he is keeping from us. And I thought Bedol would surely rot in jail this time.
Bedol is so damn cocky because he’s got some really big and mighty people protecting him. If his backers let him go to prison, he might speak out and condemn them. Of course, his masters wouldn’t want that shit happening. Unless the opposition would do something (as they should) to stop all these non-sense, expect the Congress to house aswangs, malignos and diablos that’ll waste our taxes and our votes.
Do we care about these things? Or have we gone tired of protesting? As a student and a blogger, the only thing I could do for now is to blog and talk about these stuff with the hopes of it reaching other people. These sorts of issues are not to be taken lightly: for goodness sake, these will make or break our country! If we want to stay here and be happy, then by all means, stop ignoring them. This doesn’t concern a few, but all of us.
But what’s more disappointing is the fact that the people who are meant to oppose the administration isn’t doing anything. I would have liked to say “ isn’t doing enough†but since the GO senatoriables have been proclaimed, they’ve shut their mouths and stopped criticizing PGMA altogether. If this is true, Trillanes have all the reason in the world to call his team mates traitors. If Koko wasn’t in a jam with Migz, would Leila de Lima come to the rescue of the Maguindanao COCs?
In all of this, Bedol remains to be freakishly lucky, an untouchable. I wouldn’t want a man like him to roam around the streets of Manila. Mahirap na, he might make me vanish like the COCs.

Electric Jeepney
A few days ago, I read that two electric jeepneys were leased to Makati. I appreciate the efforts of Makati City to reduce pollution and hope that more cities would follow.
There are just two things that would hinder such project unless it would have generous sponsors. First, I read that a unit costs around Php300K. Secondly, it would take about 8 to 12 hours charging in a plant for the automobile to run around 80 to 100 km.
I hope that scientists would invent a way to reduce the cost of the vehicle and the charging time, esp. if these units would be soon sold to private corporation or individuals. It may discourage a lot of people to support anti-pollution sentiments if cost would be such high.

A challenge to sharpen one’s mind
One of the quotes that interest me comes from a novelist and poet, Josiah Gilbert Holland. He said, “The mind grows by what it feeds on.” Our minds our always hungry for quality food but we sometimes feed them with “garbageâ€. Just like the human body, we feel energetic by the food we take such as foods rich in protein, carbohydrates, minerals, etc. This may indirectly affect our mind with the quality of food we take.
However, the influence in our surrounding greatly affects the way we think and the way we perceive things. This influence in the surrounding may be the “food†we feed to our mind. According to Catherine Pulsifer, a life coach, “One of my major concerns today is that a lot of people feed their mind with television. Television is like the fast food industry. I am not saying we can’t learn from television, but the majority of what is on television is not of educational value or will not positively influence our thoughts. We increasingly judge our success and personal worth by television stories – stories of the rich and famous, those who have beauty and the perfect body, those who do little work and still succeed. Yet, this is not reality. You can lose your job, you can lose material items, but you can never lose your knowledge. The money and time we invest in ourselves to further increase our knowledge is truly an investment in our future….â€
I agree with her that those things will not positively influence our thoughts. This can be a reason why we have a lot of negative feelings, bitterness, complaints, dissatisfactions, and feeling of unfairness to others to the extent that we fail to recognize small things, which may have great value to others. This could be one reason why it is difficult to feel the inner peace within us.
Monumental – a poem about ???
I mark on this moment, a monumental shift
In its wake is a blank space,I wish not a rift
The time together was heartfelt
But in this, there was a blow dealt
I have caused this riven
for that I beg to be forgiven
The desire still burns and scorches
but the needs kill and the mind confound
I thank you for the shelter and providence
and with these words, I am unbound.
