Movie Review: Die Hard 4.0
You can’t put down a real action hero like John McClane.
And in Die Hard 4.0, Bruce Willis definitely shows us that even if he’s 51, there’s still much that he can do to bring justice to the legacy which is Die Hard.
I saw the movie with a couple of officemates last week and I was literally blown away. After having a blast in Transformers, June and July may just prove to be the best movie-months this year.

Apple iPhone in RP by 2008?
I’m sure you’ve gone “oohh” and “ahhh” over the Apple iPhone.
For some (and for me), it’s the perfect mobile phone – Ever. Period. Now, are you wondering when the iPhone will be released for the Philippines? Sorry, but it’s not this year. T_T
Unfortunately, AT&T has a deal with Apple for an apperent lock-down on exclusive rights as telco in the United States. The iphone was released in the US last June 29 in what Steve Jobs and company dubbed, the most succesful product intro of the 21st century.

“Ano ba Maruja, kailan ba tayo aani,” tanong ni Kumare.
Blogging For Money? – Pinoy Blogero Butts In
The internet has become a place of opportunity in making money and blogging is no exception. Everyday thousands of people build their own blogs thinking that they could easily earn money through blogging. They’ll find out too late that it would take them half a year for their blogs just to get past the $1 dollar mark.Personally, I really don’t think that there is anything wrong with earning money from blogging. It is much like a bonus that a blogger can earn from doing what he loves to do. However, there is an alarming number of blogs who greatly focuses in earning money that they forget the real essence of blogging.

Blogging For Money? – What other Bloggers Think

A few days ago, I have left a question on the PB Forum for the readers of Pinoy Blogero which asks a serious question if bloggers only think of earning money when they blog.
I know that most bloggers has already considered earning money from their blogs. To some it might have been an easy decision, but there is also the other half which took this issue more like destroying the true essence of blogging.
Is it okay to blog for money? Does earning money through blogs deviate our attention to the real essense of blogging?
Let us hear what others have to say. All of us have our different opinions. Who knows, maybe we could learn a thing or two from each other.

I like the way Steve Pavlina answers the idea on how to make money from your blog . For me, this should be the mindset of all bloggers.

I have heard about bloggers making money from blogging. But honesty, and don’t hate me for being ignorant about this, I DONT KNOW ANYTHING ABOUT IT. But given the chance, I would welcome the idea because it gives the blogger another form of income, i just hope that the content is not sacrificed.
Let’s be honest about it, money makes the world go round. And if bloggers are given the chance to earn while they blog, then its a beneficial cycle for bloggers.

i think it is not okay to blog just for having or getting some money from blogging… nawawala ang essence na pag-bloblog! blogging is free writing… if bloggers get some money from blogging, i guess it is just a reward or some sort of a bonus… (^_^) V

IPO Philippines in cooperation with International Confederation of Societies of Authors and Composers (CSAC) had jointly organized the Seminar-Workshop on the Collective Administration of Visual Arts in the Philippines which I attended recently (originally scheduled last June 29). The seminar was held as part of the 10th year of Intellectual Property Code (or RA 8293) with the theme “Celebrating Creativity.”
Three foreign speakers shared their invaluable knowledge and expertise: Mr. Ang Kwee Tiang, Regional Director of CSAC Asia-Pacific Region talked about Basic Principles of Collective Management of Rights; Ms. Carola Streul, Secretary General of European Visual Artists and General Manager of OnLineArt discussed Collective Management of Rights in the Visual Arts, The Droit de Siute, and the Administration of Rights in Visual Arts in the Digital Environment while Ms. Chryssy Tintner, CEO – Visual Arts Copyright Collecting Agency (Viscopy) for Australia & New Zealand talks about Direct Licensing and Book and Magazine Publishers, Museums and Educational Institutions, Licensing and Enforcement of Primary Uses of Rights in the Visual Arts – The Practice in other Countries and its Applicability in the Philippines. Filipino counterparts are Atty. F.D. Nicolas Pichay who talked about Copyright in the Visual Arts and Mr. Albert Avellana, owner and curator of Avellana Art Gallery who talked about The Visual Arts Market in the Philippines.
