Philippine Idol Updates: Gian Magdangal Nominated in Awit Awards
Philippine Idol runner-up Gian Magdangal was nominated at this year’s Awit Awards for Best New Male Recording Artist for his single “Himala.”
He is shortlisted alongside Chris Cayzer for “I Got You,” JR Siaboc for “Hilot,” Aaron Agassi for “Calculate It,” and Jimmy Marquez for “Tanging Ikaw.”
Winners will be announced on August 8, 2007, at NBC Tent in Taguig.

White Rabbit Denies Formaldehyde Accusation
The accusations regarding a certain candy called “White Rabbit” containing formaldehyde(commonly known as formalin) has finally been proven and dismissed false.Guan Sheng Yuan (Group) Ltd, White Rabbit’s manufacturer released yesterday official laboratory results certifying that their products are free from contaminated ingredients such as formalin. General Manager Weng Mao, stated at a recent presscon conducted by the company, that they already received test result samples from an international inspection company called SGS, proving its products are free from the poisonous chemical.
GM Mao stated, “the report is convincing enough to dispel the untrue reports from some overseas media”.
Last monday, Bureau of Food and Drugs(BFAD – Philippines) began banning White Rabbit’s distribution and pulled-out stocks of the candy on all grocery stores. Not only the said product has been pulled-out but other China-made products as well. Included are Milk Candy, Balron Grape Biscuits and Yong Kang Foods Grape Biscuits, which came from the provinces of Fujian and Guangdong. BFAD also issued a public advisory asking the general public not to buy or consume the said products and claiming that sample tests on them had shown they contained harmful substances, such as formaldehyde.

Matagal din akong hindi nakapagsulat. Hindi sa katamaran, nawalan lang ako ng inspirasyon a.k.a nawili akong maglaro ng Wii. Nakakahiya mang tanggapin pero certified addict na ako dahil sa pula kong mga mata at masakit na hintuturo at hinlalaki.
Dalawang linggo na rin ang dumaan nang mag nagemail sa akin upang ako ay inisin. (Naiinis siya malamang ngayon dahil lagi niyang kausap ang aking abugado) Pukol niya sa akin maliban sa iba pang insulto ay mga tanga lamang ang pumapasok sa propesyon ng pagtuturo. Dinagdag pa niya na kaawaawa ang aking propesyon sapagkat bukod sa mababa ang sweldo, wala pa raw appreciation in other words, thankless. Kaseng pula ako ng kamatis sa galit pero katwiran ko na lang at least hindi ako mukhang lalake. Kung insultuhan na rin lang, aba magaling rin akong mang- asar.
Math Model Helps Cure Hepa-C
Another excellent breakthrough in the field of science and medicine. A joint research by specialists in University of Haifa(Institute of Evolution) and Indiana University recently discovered a mathematical method that is able to indentify genes that battle against viruses and diseases in our body. Based on a research lead by Dr. Leonid Brodsky and Dr. Milton Taylor, they’ve already identified over 37 genes(out of possible 20,000 genes) that help in combating the Hepa-C strain.
According to Dr. Brodsky, “”When we know which genes are responsible for fighting the viruses which attack our liver, we will be able to look for the medications which will activate these genes most favorably”. He further added, “”In the specific case of hepatitis C, we have now isolated the genes that show which patients will respond to treatment. Until now, all patients received treatment for an extended period of time without knowing whether or not they would respond. In the future, we hope to find other medications that will be more effective in activating all of the 37 genes.”

Wondering why most of your visitors aren’t leaving comments on your posts? You’ve already squeezed out all your creative juices and missed your favorite Koreanovelas just to concentrate on an entry only to find out that they end up with only a few comments by the end of the day.
Are you doing something wrong? Or is it because people are just too lazy to leave a comment?
We must consider the fact that people don’t really have a lot of time to spend reading articles and creating comments. Thinking of something to comment takes up time and some thinking, which is why most of them decide not to comment at all. Even if they do have the time, depending on how you have made your article, there are times that people don’t know how they will react to your post.
So, how can one increase the number of people that comment on a blog? There are many ways but there is one quick method that I do in Pinoy Blogero that is quite effective.
Leaving a question
As bloggers we could make things easier for them by giving them a question. This is a question that is related to your post’s topic in which your readers could ponder on. It encourages comments because it will be easier for them to react simply by answering the given question.
