An amazing sighting of an iPhone… :)
“I still can’t get over laying my dainty hands on the much-heralded 8GB (!) Apple iPhone . Everyone who’s held it is right, you hold the iPhone and it immediately elicits a “wow!””

SMB-Pilipinas– Champ!
I tagged my two kids and off we go to Araneta Coliseum to watch the championship match between SMB-Pilipinas and Lebanon, and the game 5 of the Alaska and Talk n Text tussle at the Philippine Basketball Association. Our national team won the title with Lebanon 2nd and Syria 3rd by virtue of winning against China in the battle for 3rd place. Because of the kids schooling tomorrow, we left for home before the game 5 of Alaska against Talk n Text starts. The atmosphere is festive all thru out the game with Philippine flags waived here and there with wild cheering from the crowd with the drums and bugle in the background. Added bonus is the presentation of UST’s cheering squad.

Mystical cave and Antipolo Church
[Some of the images look a lot better in my blog, underside]Â
The idea of climbing some random mountain peak and exploring a cave weren’t the things I wanted to happen on my birthday (July 15). I was thinking of maybe going out, have a picnic somewhere and maybe do some shopping with my family. I was a bit hesitant to go to Antipolo last Sunday and celebrate my 22nd birthday in the bare mountains, with some people I barely know and with the animals they have. I didn’t want to show it on my face that I hated the idea, that I despised getting dirty and tired on a day I considered special, too special to waste on some trivial and common place.
When I got down to eat breakfast, my mood changed. I saw how my Dad had lovingly prepared the pancit molo and his super crispy chicken to take with us to Antipolo and I couldn’t help but be touched, be truly happy and excited as he did. I think my Dad especially thought and considered me when he planned this trip because he knew I love to travel and do some stuff like mountain climbing (Gulugod-Baboy, Batangas) and scuba diving (Puerto Galera). Then when my kuya and ate sat down with me and my Dad for breakfast, every bit of angst I had with the trip just vanished. I got giddy with the idea of celebrating my birthday in a really, really diffrent and unique way.
ANTIPOLO CHURCH
I initially thought the church would be old and grimmy, but to my surprise it looked new! This is the first time I’ve ever been in Antipolo.
Human Security Act
Is there anything to fear from Republic Act 9372? Oh yes. Read here.
Date-raped
Sleeping 1am in the morning yesterday because of a YM talk with a friend and then waking up early for church gave me a headache and a dose of drowsiness. But the thought of having a new found friend and knowing her deeper, somehow gave me a lift but at the same time, troubled me.
Why? Our conversation reached to her tormenting experiences in the past and establishing her trust on me about confidential matters, she shared it.
My friend was date-raped.
Reading her messages shook my nerves and dimmed my eyes with tears of grief. Being part of an adolescent reproductive health advocacy for almost a year now, I felt a deep anger and resentment to the one who did it to her and generally, to all the paranoidic, irresponsible, foolish men who dates women with a single objective – SEX or worse, RAPE.
Harry Potter & The Order of the Phoenix – Film Review

Reviewing a Harry Potter film is not an easy task. It is akin to a prism channeling three kinds of perspective into one conclusive edict of its merits and demerits. If any one of you know of a talking prism, let me know. Until then, here is my attempt to do just that.
CPLA ANNIVERSAY

Blogging in a hospital?

PinoyExplorer in a hospital? Yes, you are absolutely right. Sometimes, travelling is an exhausting experience but it is worthwhile. Though I have a line of travelling stories to share, I was able to include this as my top priority for now.
I stayed at St. Lukes hospital for 3 days now, but opsss! I am not the one who’s sick:). I was here because my wife had experienced again a terrible drop of her potassium count and according to her doctor this is a fatal condition that needs immediate medical action.
Movie Review: Die Hard 4.0
You can’t put down a real action hero like John McClane.
And in Die Hard 4.0, Bruce Willis definitely shows us that even if he’s 51, there’s still much that he can do to bring justice to the legacy which is Die Hard.
I saw the movie with a couple of officemates last week and I was literally blown away. After having a blast in Transformers, June and July may just prove to be the best movie-months this year.
