Thinking of a Name For Your Blog

Now that you have already decided which blog topic your blog is going to discuss, the next logical step for us to take is to think of a blog name. Yes, you may want to start this early. Thinking of a name for a blog is not as easy as you think.
Some of you may be thinking that you could change your blog name anytime so there is no need to think about it at an early stage. This may be true. However, having a well established name at the very beginning would ensure a stable growth for your blog.
Naming your blog
Naming a blog is very different from naming a couple of goldfishes (Nemo, Goldy, Blacky), pet dogs (Bruno, Browny, Blacky), Macs (Arthur, Blacky, Pinky) and even babies (Junior, Browny, Blacky). Naming a blog needs to be considered carefully because it will be the mirror of yourself. It will stick to your name as the mouthpiece of your thoughts.
Factors to consider
When I think of a name for a blog, what I usually do is I list all idea names that I want my blog to have. Before Pinoy Blogero, among my list were blog names like Pinoy Big Blogger (Already taken), Pinoysilog (I’m stillthinking of using it in the future) and even, PinoyBlam! (Sounds cool, no?).
‘Biyahe tayo’, take risks and enjoy priceless rewards
Hi everyone. Thank you so much for visiting my blog for the past 2 days. On my way home, I was so excited to see if how was everything here. Though, I didn’t have more comments on my latest posts. reading my messages on shoutboxes made me feel even better so I really thank you so much.
As what I’ve told you in my previous post, I’ll be having a training and I just came back from the 2-day training from Iloilo to Bacolod City and it has been a venturous experience for me. Why? It was my very first time to do almost all the jaunts and activities I did and I really thank God for that opportunity.
To think that I coordinated for everything (with support from my fellow y-konek members most especially Jake Mae Valencia of West Negros College and Ramel Jacolbe of Riverside College), I thank God for the chance once again to be pressured, squeezed and harnessed for a good cause, a good advocacy and a very scary do-that-or-I’ll-kick-your-ass instances during the preparations and when facilitating everything in the venue and while the training is on progress.
Team Philippines is 3rd in Ragnarok World Championships
Sadly, we didn’t bring home the gold but Team Armada-Philippines, official RP team to the Ragnarok World Championships 2007 held at the Lotte Activity Center in Seoul, Korea, took the bronze medal after defeating Germany 2-0.
Team Philippines lost to the Korea National team 2-0 in the bid for one of two finals slots. Korea went on to battle Thailand (who defeated Germany) for the finals. Thailand went to upset the host country 3-1 in their best-of-five finals match to become the 2007 RWC Champions!.
This is the best finish yet for our country in the second installment of the international Ragnarok tournament. The RWC 2007 ends today and the Philippine contingent will fly back to Manila tomorrow, July 23, 2007.
Hero
Let me attempt to try to tell you about a story of a man who lived in the Japanese regime. Probably a number of us bloggers know someone who survived that time.
Do you have your own story?
Mine is about a unnamed hero, at least for us.
… he is a hero. There is so many like him that will never be recognized. But recognition doesn’t matter in everything we do. In his heart, he knew what he have done and this is what is important.

The Power of the Tongue
The strange men outside our gate seemed looking for someone. I woke up from a good night sleep when they greeted me with the usual sounds, “Tao Po! (Ayo! In Cebuano). These men were eager to enter our house. In as much as I am too accommodating, I let them in without hesitation. They are members of Jehovah’s Witness!
They presented good magazines about life skills with the guidance of Jehovah God as their Sovereign Lord of the universe. These men gave me five (5) magazines not for a fee but only an amount for donation. I also respect their preaching because they are good people. I just knew that members of Jehovah’s Witness exalt Jehovah as God while Catholics have no name of the Father of Jesus Christ. He is simply God. They are not allowed to undergo any form of blood transfusion because blood is sacred in the eyes of God. It is against the law of Jehovah. Perhaps, blood letting [blood donation] is not allowed. I am sure that I am not qualified to be a member of Jehovah’s Witness because I am a regular blood donor at Philippine National Red Cross.
What enticed me to get a copy of the magazine is the content on life skills which is also my interest. One topic is on the Power of the Tongue. I agree with the article without citing verses in the Bible that “death and life are in the power of the tongue”. We have heard the human tongue’s death-dealing power being wielded in fabricating lies and false testimonies that have ruined, even death to innocent victims. There are long-time friendships which have been dashed by hurtful remarks. Emotions have been crushed by harsh words.
My experience last week proved that even staring a lady could crush harsh words. An older man in his 50’s stared a beautiful lady. Perhaps, he just appreciated the beauty of that lady (around 20-22 years old). Unfortunately, the lady’s older sister saw the fixed look of the said man. The older sister heavily criticized the man on why he was staring her younger sister. The man’s only defense was his reply, “I am already married. You’re too conceited.” In this very small case, we can picture vividly the destructive power of the unbridled tongue.

Bayani versus Heroes

Awesome number of riders (groups or solo) coming from all directions continues to arrive at Shell (The Fort) as early as 10am (20 July 07) for the planned motorcade to MMDA office in EDSA. “Imagine if these motorcade is done on a non-working day, I’m sure there’ll be a lot more!” said one biker.
Some are seen wearing their groups uniform but 99% of them (that includes me) wears black, in protest to the proposed ordinance of “Plate Number Stickers on Helmets”, one of the purpose of the motorcade is to show that motorcyclist are united in condemning the said resolution and also to give the opposition papers to Chairman Bayani Fernando. (whom they branded as Mr.Genius)
