Miskol, meaning missed call.
I don’t agree with Miskol winning the word of the year. Because it is not even a word. Miskol came out because some Pinoys cannot pronounced “missed call” properly. I am sure they don’t intend to say it that way or like to be interpreted that way.

hope you have read or will have the chance to read the arguments of the paper reader for you to learn more whay it was chosen as word of the year. and by saying it’s not even a word, what do you mean exactly? does it mean that filipinos don’t have the right or are not entitled to come up with new words? i believe this is one of the issues that a conference like sawikaan tries to “remedy.”
