Tuliro

May Bikol Naga, Bikol Partido, Bikol Calabanga, etc.

Hand tinted Black and White photos the classic way.

I want to bring Hand Tinting back in the main stream. Since we have our computers and high tech soft ware we fail to realize that computer generated imagery or photos are not the same as in the past. The reason is, that the computer lacks Zone “A” and Zone “B”. Its merely a copy. All computer generated photos or prints will oxidize or fade. The sole purpose of making Photographs are to record and document historical events. Archiving Photos that are computer generated defeats this goal. In museums you will only find Black and White Photos, they know that any other type of print won’t last long enough to achieve their objective.
When we look back in the early 1800’s we see images that were produced that still exist today. What if our Great masters used pixels to record there Art. They would have never dreamed of wasting there time and effort to gain fame by employing methods other than the Classical techniques to create their Art. When history is written, those who have negatives and Hand developed Prints will have works of Arts that will be priceless.
The Great masters such Van Goghs, Picasso’s, rembrandts, Cezanne’s, Seraut’s, El greco,s, Constables, Botticellis, Angelico’s and Bounnarroti’s would not exist today as we know them if they had used digital assisted soft ware to create their works of Art. I have over 50,000 images and over 90,000 negatives that will be worth more than any digital print made today.
Photo Art has been around in the main stream for quite some time. No one has change or improved on what George Eastman, Joeseph Niepce, Giovanni Battista, Thomas Wedgwood and Louis Jacques Mande Daguerre attempted . The computer can never allow any one the freedom that gives you the ability to capture an image as on sees it. Ansel Adams was the last person to that gave us a new set of rules and technique.
I have develop a “2″ Zone that takes his ideas and the other great Photographers of the past and improve how we see and reproduce our Photos.
Don’t miss out, if you can have the luck of buying a old Photo of the past, you will own tommorrows Picassos’ Van Goghs’ or even an Rembrandt.
The only worth while investment in todays Art Market will be a Hand Tinted Photograph. The other Great works of Art merely exchange owners and becomes more expensive in the process.

Breaking News: Hello Kitty Watches the Watchmen

Quis custodiet ipsos custodes? Who watches the watchmen? Who guards the guardians? Who polices the police? Hello Kitty, that’s who!

From BBC News:

hello kittyPolice chiefs in the Thai capital, Bangkok, have come up with a new way of punishing officers who break the rules – an eye-catching Hello Kitty armband.

The armband is large, bright pink and has a Hello Kitty motif with two hearts embroidered on it.

From today, officers who are late, park in the wrong place or commit other minor transgressions will have to wear it for several days.

Through the power of telepathy, I managed to conduct a profound interview with one of the first officers who were reprimanded using this dastardly tool of discipline:

Baddie: How does it feel to be shamed by this sinister armband? Do you realize that you look like a gay?

Thai Cop: I don’t really see why… wait. A gay? NOOOOOOOO!!!! (translated from Thailanese)

Garden Cafe

One of the highlights of our Bohol trip is our dinner at GARDEN CAFE. Aside from the cheesyness that it was our first dinner at Tagbilaran and it was when we finally met our new friend (my friend’s GF from Bohol!), this cafe has a story of it’s own.
Actually, you wouldn’t know what’s in store for you by just looking at the facade. The facade has the typical all plain looking wall with the name of the resto written in neon tubes .
Inside though, it has a western theme. It’s something like Charly Brown minus the modern, commercial feel of the ambiance. Wooden floors, tables and chairs, dividers, horse rides (the mechanical one), preserved animals, waiters in western costume, a lot of cowboy reads. The place is quite dim lighted and not too crowded. The tables are also divided in cubicles, which is really nice for intimate dinners.

Human rights and hypocrisy in ASEAN

Yes, Myanmar deserves to be punished for the rampant human rights violations committed by the junta. ASEAN and the rest of the world should demand immediate democratic reforms. But we should send the same message to other member nations. Myanmar does not have a monopoly on violating human rights.

Misteryosa Award on Wika 2007 Blog Writing Contest

Months ago, a plan was formed to hold a writing contest for my (upcoming) 20th birthday. Participants would be asked to write a piece on their blogs about the Filipino youth of today, and how they (the youth) can make a difference in the society. However, procrastination got the best of me, and the plan almost went kaput because of lack of time.

Then came a blog writing contest organized by the people behind PinoyBlogosphere.com.
