Pinoys Don’t Handle Success Well!!!
i just wanted to express something about what i have seen once too often…
haven’t you wondered?
i live and work abroad, and to make the story extremely concise, i went away for a different reason, i could get a IT job that looks is a factor. its not that im butt ugly but im meztiso…
we as a people put a premium on looks, we equal looks to social standing and economic power. geez, we even have enough whitening soaps and lotions that we could make a fruit salad with all the flavours with it.
it does not speak well of us, pretending to be somebody else. we dont need to be white to be successfull.
anyway, i was sick and tired of being unattended in the malls by the clerks because they never expect i would have money when i buy stuff and the like.
it hurts…
i left the country and went to europe where despite the concerns of many that racism is on the rise here, at least i know whom im against and not foresaken by my own.
make sense huh?
here i am measure not by looks but my merit. honestly im not even that good in computers just good enough that i know most things that is in need rather than waiting for other to tell what is the next trend.
as my european life unraveled and with the constant budget airline trips i take flying across the continent i keep on seeing the same trends we as people make.
of the 6million pinoys outside th country i could really say that even we send everyone somewhere that economic miracle we are all wishy washy of will not come true.
first, we dont know how to handle success.
dont need to rattle off more stories, look around you, know anyone who went abroad? the money starts flowing in, people buy stuff like it has no end.
the wife buys everything in installment, the relatives borrows everything, the kids spends on everything and the cost of living rises dramatically.
true?
but what this exercise produces? there are more students from OCWs that arent even making good grades(of course there are some)most have cellphones that much more expensive than a used car, and yet does not even know how to use anything more than the sms.
how come parents of students who are both in the country produces more balanced kids than the others..and with less money.
spoiling kids is a surefire recipe for disaster.
i have been observing pinoys here who send money to all of the “naghihirap” na family sa pinas…geez sounds noble.
but the BEST FORM OF HELP IS NOT HELPING AT ALL!!!
bear with me, itsimply means that the more dependent you make your kids and family inc. the more likely they will never move their sorry asses and find a job?
did i said find a job in a country that is hard pressed in providing jobs to its people.
case point, practically everyone of us who went to school was taught in english.
geez, it hurts that after 18years of school most of us are hard pressed to write and speak english?
what happend? there are many call centres there who dont even require a college degree to get it and yet there is a huge number of applicants who cannot be accepted because they could hard read and write in english?
we would never be able to send anyone into outerspace alive.
there are so many pinoys here who act like gods back home and live like rodents here. really. none of us read books that is worth reading and making us think of new ways to approach life.
how many homes have you seen that there is a fair amount of books in them?
how can we improve our lots when i heard from a pinoy pastor in milan said to his flock that computers were sent by the devil!!! and yet he himself has a fancy laptop while presenting in powerpoint!!ù
i dont know whose stupid the pastor or the flock who even agreed with him!!! for the love fo god! these are the very people who represent ourselves to other cultures. how do we expect the “made in the philippines” logo be respected?
whether we like it or not we all belong to the same boat regardless if your passport says otherswise, if your born filipino your stuck with it forever. there is even a pinay celebrity in london who is ashamed of being a pinay and often regard her mums ethnic origin as polynesian…
we will not make it, imagine a small country here of 5million had invented most of the phones you have there and yet we who often pat ourselves in the back for producing world class domestics, singers, cultural dancers and the like…from a bench of 80million.
we pinoys dont have the luxury of time, our resources are not infinte, look at the mountains there arent any tress left. fewer minerals to mine and certainly lesser fish in the sea.
to those pinoys out there i reaching out and saying my peace, we either do something now or we are doomed.
some of you would say…well its the goverments fault, true to some extent, but like i said its the people who make a country great and not the other way around for sure with our current attitude of gulangan etc… we would not even make it to the starting line..
how many of us knows our relatives or friends would say during elections? vote for this, because we are malaks to him or her and etc…
can you muster the strenght to vote for the real leaders? surely they are out there
we are corrupt so our goverment is corrupt. one thing i know is that most of the rich countries here are well off is because they know someone is going to correct them…
people pay taxes (much more accurately), pay the fares and etc… because they know that it cost money to run a country. people will frown on you if they find out you dont have a simple ticket of the transport and you get fined a great deal for not having a ticket.
these little things are important.more later,.,,
