GARCI TAPE SCANDAL: PART II
Many sectors in our society today fully subscribes to Honorable Senator Lacson’s proposition that there must be an end to the Garci Tape Scandal, a scandal that hounds Philippine politics to date. Senator Lacson’s noble intention is beyond reproach. The Senator as well as his classmates in PMA Batch 71’ already earned their own places in the annals of Philippine History.
However, the question that will arise in bringing back the issue all over again are, whether: is it appropriate, timely and legally acceptable? Where will it lead us?
The scandal, which nearly resulted into: anarchy, people power revolt and coup d’ etat – should have toppled Her Excellency President Gloria Macapagal Arroyo more than two years ago if not for a vacuum of a leader acceptable to the opposition, military and other sectors in our society. Many, if not all will admit that if FPJ was still alive, the situation would have been different.
It must be underscored that it is only through impeachment that a President can be unseated under our Constitution, which must originate from Congress. The opposition, however, have not mustered enough votes in the Lower House for the articles of impeachment to reach the Senate, the body to try the case. Consequently, a stalemate resulted to a sudden lull that led the public to uproar into hysteria. They were left in quandary hanging suspended in animation – “BITIN”!
MALU FERNANDEZ SCANDAL: A LESSON IN DAMAGE CONTROL
We thought that the publisher of Malu Fernandez’ article were just waiting for a perfect timing to reverse the situation concerning the controversy. The situation could have been reversed and the damage controlled as Malu was already in an underdog position. They, however, remained mum until the situation gets out of control.
It should have been an opportunity for them to steal the show as the limelight reaches its climax. With a sorry note and pa sympathetic effect or even an admission that it was only for a show that went out of control, they could have managed the situation. Shake hands, hugs and kisses between the OFWs representatives, pro-OFW bloggers, Malu, the publisher and editor in a press conference called for that purpose could have acquired maximum media exposure and a happy ending.
It, however, turned out the other way around with Malu saying sorry, then resigned. Its too late. Damage to Malu’s image including the outfit where her articles was published was already inflicted and it was deep. The situation already reached its irreversible stage and it may take time for Malu and the outfit which published her article to regain. Nothing has been heard of from the outfit, which published Malu’s article. Life, however, must go on.
Making love with Wentworth Miller
I was tagged several weeks ago by modobs to ask myself this question – “If you were left alone on a deserted island, which celebrity would you choose to spend the time with?? That actually is very easy to answer for all the gorgeous celebrities out there. I can actually think about 10 men I would like to be with me on that island on any day. To prevent that I think, she made the tag more challenging. She says to list down why you think you deserve to be with that chosen celebrity. Hmm… it is much harder to respond to don’t you think.
The first question to ask is “Who the heck is Wentworth Miller?”
A Moment of Silence
“Pagkatapos ng kasiyahan, kasunod ay luha.” — spoken in a 1980s TV commercial
This is my version of One Day Blog Silence.

Empress Maruja would like take a moment of reflection and silence in memory of a television colleague and one of his dearest friends, Larra Estandarte. I truly hope that justice will be served against her killer.
The weekly Bunny Man Hunt will resume tomorrow, Sunday, between 9 am to 12 noon.
Honeyyyyyyyyyyy!!!!
The day started out just like any morning. I woke up, checked my mail and then I headed off to the shower. It was then that things started to bad.
“Honeyyyyyyyyyyyy!!!” I screamed from the bedroom.
“What?!” my wife poked her head through the doorway to find me holding and staring at my shampoo bottle and my deodorant stick.
“They went too far this time! Too fucking far,” I said while shaking my hands at her.
“Who did?”
“Look at this!” I told her, as I handed over my shampoo bottle and my deodorant stick.
“Okay. Why am I holding your shampoo and your deodorant?”
“Don’t you see woman?! THEY’RE BOTH EMPTY!”
“So?”
“AT THE SAME TIME!?!?”
*SIGH* “Do you have a point? Because the chicken’s burning.”
“Fuck the chicken! And no, I’m not talking about what I did last Christmas. I was drunk dammit, drop it! I mean the neighbors emptied my shampoo and used up my deodorant stick! Once again, our neighbors have slapped our faces with the gauntlet of un-awesomeness.”
Product Review: LG KU 250 Cellphone (3G For All)
A few weeks ago, the wife and I decided to retire our respective phones. Which was a good thing too because her phone can no longer function properly after receiving one call for me, and the last time I bought myself a new phone was more than seven years ago.
It was a Nokia 7110 that only lasted for a few months before breaking down completely. Shortly after that, my succeeding phones consisted of a second-hand Nokia 6100 which I bought from the wife which had a penchant for resetting itself in the middle of composing a text message. After that I inherited an old Nokia 7250 whose performance had no perceptive improvement over its predecessor other than the fact that it died on me much more often. Lastly, I had a Nokia 3230, again inherited, of which I can say nothing good about.
Which brings us to the present. We’ve always wanted to have 3G phones and since money is indeed an issue, we figured there really is no choice but to go with the “cheapest 3G phone in the market.” So we filled up our applications for Smart (don’t go Globe if you’re planning on using 3G because their rates are insane), waited for 3 weeks even though they said it was only going to take 3 days, and got our phones. We’ve been playing around with these babies for quite some time now and here are our thoughts:

Dear Sardonyx
The Other Filipinos
Many Filipinos are not aware of the varied local cultures which thrive in the Philippine countryside. There are 110 ethnolinguistic groups in the country which could reach up to 10-12 million of the population. Most indigenous peoples or IP are in areas classified as public domain.

Start with a Smile
Mistaken
Product Review: Edifier iF330
If you’ve been following all my posts in the forum, I’d say you were creepy. And please stay away from me.Also, you’d know that I’ve been obsessing about this product for a few months now. And it was only today that I finally got off my lazy ass over to Greenhills to finally buy it.
My buddy brought one of these to my bachelor party a couple of months ago and the first thing I noticed was how crisp and solid the sound was. So I asked him how much he got it for and I was floored at the price. Only 3.5K. That’s pretty fucking cheap considering most iPod speakers reach up to the 5 digit range.
