Setting the Best Posting Frequency for Your Blog

When starting out a new blog, part of a blogger’s concern is to set a posting frequency which determines the number of posts to be dished out by a blog in a specified amount of time. I bet some of you took the decision of choosing the posting frequency lightly, thinking that it is not that significant to waste time on. Little do you know that a fully optimized posting frequency is one of the greatest secrets of blogging that was never told (exaggerated, for effect) which can maximize a blog’s capability to earn readers.
Seriously, it’s true.
Look around the blogosphere, you will see that the more successful ones are those who provide content on a consistent basis. If readers like your blog, they would expect more of your posts from you. The decision on WHEN you will give them the content they are yearning for is the one that will greatly affect your blog’s readership.Post post post!
So how can you choose the optimal posting frequency for your blog? Listed below are the factors that you might want to consider in choosing your posting frequency.
- Blogger’s Availability – Does your schedule allow you to have sufficient time to blog? Lay out your free time and see if you could flesh out a posting frequency that is perfect for your schedule. Remember to also give time to other blogging activities such as visiting other blogs, replying to comments, and such.
- Blogger’s Capabililty – Be familiar with your own writing capability. Are you a fast writer? Are you capable of finishing an article in a pre-defined amount of time? It would be hard to have a posting frequency of one post a day if you take 12 hours in composing one (like me), you would only stress yourself out.
How to deal with annoying customers?
Being a salesperson I believe is one of the stressful job that I know of, ever. Consider your effort of talking to persuade people and the quota that you’re suppose to make. Those alone if not met could lead to dejection. A funny video of Mr. de Niro shows how NOT to be affected using his own WAY.
ZTE, Ben Abalos, Joey de Venecia III, and the Mystery Man
To begin with, I think there is some truth to the rumor that AHI (Amsterdam Holdings INC) holds a grudge for losing the bid in the NBN (National Broadband Network). I mean, who wouldn’t? After proposing a plan that’ll cost the government a fraction of what ZTE Corp. has offered, after being offered bribe money in your face to back off and after being harassed by the ‘mystery man’ to stay quiet, Joey de Venecia III (JDV3) must have felt like a little boy, bullied to stay put in a dark corner.
The first things that come to mind are these:
1. What the hell is Abalos doing in that deal that obviously doesn’t concern the COMELEC?
2. If JDV3 couldn’t stomach the massive corruption in this deal, then why go all the way to China to forge a tie-up with the ZTE Execs?
3. Who is this newest cast member, the mystery man?
I watched Ricky Carandang’s The Big Picture last weekend and saw that, to my delight, his guest was JDV3. Throughout the show, I got the impression that he was being cautious in his answers. I mean, I know he doesn’t want to divulge any information outside the proper forum (Senate hearings), but I think he’s protecting his father from getting glued into all of this. Doesn’t it seem weird that the Speaker’s son is entering a deal with the government? And a multi-mullion deal at that too. Since his father is such a high profile politician, wouldn’t others notice the conflict of interest in this deal if ever AHI was awarded the contract? And if AHI did win, won’t the issue of NBN shift to discovering why AHI was awarded such a deal considering the major stockholder is the son of a government official?
To put it frankly, I think JDV3 has come out because he didn’t win anything; no money, no deal not even respect from people he might have considered his father’s friends. If he didn’t like Abalos’ ‘gangster’ rule in this deal, he should have just turned his back on the bribe, walked away and then came out. I have to say that JDV3’s timing is so way off. Instead of being the good guy, everyone now looks at him like a vengeful sore loser. You can’t put away the thought that he is doing all this to get back at Abalos and his gang of corrupt bullies.
I see that JDV3’s confessions have done us good, but his supposed intentions aren’t entirely pure though. Too bad, too bad. Abalos, I must say, has outdone himself again. Can you imagine, Abalos wants 2/3 of the NBN deal for himself? That’s insane! That kind of money could put hundreds, if not thousands, of kids to school, or build buildings (e.g. housing projects, schools, infrastructures etc) or health care improvements and even to pay off the country’s debt! It’s crazy to think that while others suffer, the high and mighty think of nothing else than to gain more money and power to themselves. And being public officials, that’s called being immoral.
Meanwhile, why does Angara want to probe into the ZTE deal only after it’s official and signed? What is he thinking? I’m afraid he has lost all logic when he went over PGMA’s camp. The probe into this deal should come before it is signed, isn’t it logical that way? And PGMA reasons that as a democratic country, we should honor any sort of deal that the government has gone into. Does she intend to waste the people’s taxes (again) into this meaningless crap?
Someone please, call on Abalos, JDV3 and all the cohorts all at once in the Senate hearings. Maybe that way, they’ll punch each other’s faces to keep everyone quiet. And maybe who knows, they could possibly kill each other in the process (ang mean ko noh).
Video: Princeton of Avenue Q took Kate Monster on a Date
Princeton took Kate Monster on a surprise date in and around (pun intended!) on an actual London location.
Avenue Q!
It looks like it’s going to be a very busy week so I’m going to make this short.
The wife and I weren’t expecting to enjoy Manila’s Presentation of Avenue Q as much as we did.For starters, we’ve been listening to the soundtrack for over a year, and I was afraid we’d be sick of the songs by now.
Also, the fact that most of the numbers from the show can now be found in Youtube kind of robs the show its novelty.
Pinoy Blogosphere Weekend Recap (09/16/07)

- The recent verdict on the Joseph Estrada “Erap” trial has caused quite a stir on a number of political blogs in the Pinoy blogosphere. Here are some interesting reads on the said issue:

A trap of his own making - Coy from Cokskiblue has uncovered yet another click fraud invitation that is less blatant than the one I exposed here in PinoyBlogero. Instead of asking for clicks through link-baiting, the said scam targets unsuspecting users of Friendster. Check out the post here.
- Blogger.com has just recently released Blogger Play, which is a new feature that automatically collects pictures that are posted on blogpost blogs and shows it to others through a slideshow that is updated in real-time.
- Paolo Mendoza from PaoloMendoza.com shifts his blog’s focus and concentrated on talking about “making munnies online”. Yep, the Philosophical Bastard is now teaching everyone how they could earn money through their blogs. Expect a different approach on the world of money making.
- Yatot from RandomThoughtsofMe says that one of the popular things to do in the blogosphere today is to stir things up with a little controversy. What he did was he listed down ten Pinoy bloggers and ranted about the things he doesn’t like about them and attacked them one by one! LOL!
- An interesting piece of writing about the latest gaming fad, Defense of the Ancients (DotA) had been circulating the net lately. The said write-up claims that DotA is devil worship and playing it is like defying God. The author made some word association to make the game seem evil and even a true-to-life testimonial of a boy who was saved from the evils of it. Myk from Lee Flailmarch has stumbled upon the said article and shares his thoughts about it.
- Pinay Wordpress themes designer, Beng Hafner from the blog Kauderwelsch, was accused of stealing graphics that she used on one of her themes. I saw both their works and they are almost exactly similar to each other. Find out the difference by checking out their blogs.
- Users hosted under Philhosting.net are frustrated over the number of downtimes that their servers are experiencing over the past weeks. Allen from Silkenhut.com exclaims, “Their tagline, ‘Affordable Solutions for everyone’, true… but what about reliability?!” I had the same problem when I was still hosted under them just weeks ago, the downtimes were a threat to my blog, which is why I decided to look for a new webhost. Philhosting.net, what is happening to you?

Beauty and Prosthetics
Before I knew of Sarah Connor or Hellboy, there was Catherine (Beauty) and Vincent (Beast). One of the first “grown-up” (i.e. none cartoon) shows I got into when I was young was the live action TV series Beauty and the Beast. I have memories of lying down at the foot of my parent’s bed watching Vincent running off to save Catherine from some danger. You know, cause women are always getting into trouble, fictional or otherwise (kidding!).
The Rape of Marimar
The other day in Fiction class, we were discussing how men have taken advantage of women throughout history and how this has been documented in various types of literature. A classmate said, “oh, like Marimar!” Her comment made me giggle as I remembered my childhood days when we were such fanatics of the Mexican telenovela. Then my professor said something interesting:
“Come to think of it, she was raped… Marimar was raped!”
