one day ka noneng and my tito tex were fixing the boundaries of one of the lots we own. as well all know, in the province, the land is the most important part of one’s investment. and so they were looking for some 2×2 pieces of wood ta finish the project. they found one at the backyard although they werent sure if the 2×2 would fit.

coupla hours passed and the boys were back.

moki: ano, ayos ga? nagkasya?

ka noneng:

On Office Presentations

Let me tell you something about office presentations. They don’t tell you anything that you don’t already know.

That’s right.

When was the last time that you went into a presentation and you told the presenter (presentationer? presentationist?) “Holy Shit! I was not aware of that important piece of information! How could I have been blind all these years? From now on, I will live my life according to what I have learned from you. Quick! Take off your pants and impregnate me with your genius!”

The Ultimate “Avenue Q” Experience

I blogged about how keyed up I was on seeing it, playing the Avenue Q soundtrack at home and at work for an entire week before the air date. It’s a bummer that I couldn’t LOL as hard as those who have only heard the songs the first time. I mean, come on, I already know when to expect the punch lines, let alone the songs’ pauses and chronology. Heck, I was even mouthing the lyrics with the artists! Again, I’m a douche like that for being my own spoil.

Personally, I never even for a while felt I had been short changed by the production. Everything about it either looks or feels awesomez00rz: [...]

Ranking on PinoyBlogosphere.com Will Be Shutting Down

Just this morning, the administrators of PinoyBlogosphere.com has announced that their widely successful Pinoy Blog ranking system found at Ranking.PinoyBlogosphere.com will be shutting down soon.

The administrators were forced to make the decision of shutting it down after receiving a letter from their webhost that Topsites (and any other similar softwares) are not allowed to be run on their servers because it causes huge amount of loads that stresses their servers.

This explains the sudden malfunction of the PinoyBlogosphere badges that shows the ranking of blogs. Yesterday, my badge showed a ranking of 80+ something. Now it only shows two cute little faces which normally signifies that your blog is ranked more than a 100.

A similar Pinoy blog topsite, PinoyTopBlogs.com, also made a decision of shutting down their topsite after experiencing continuous server crashes on their own servers almost everyday. The said topsite is now changing hands to accommodate the overwhelming number of Pinoy blogs that register each day.

I hope PinoyBlogosphere.com finds a way to fix this problem. They could look for a new webhost or something. Such a great thing should never go to waste.

The AB ZTE FG alphabet and other echoes from the Marcos era

Just a month after triumphantly attributing a 7.5% growth in the economy to her own efforts, its crisis mode for President Arroyo and her seemingly perpetually besieged administration again. No wonder why crude but desperate full-page ads headlined “Good News” highlighting the economy’s 7.5% growth in the 2nd Quarter suddenly sprouted in papers in the middle of the week!

But before continuing to the crisis that has threatened to change the alphabet from the usual ABC to AB ZTE FG, let us first remember two events and two equally significant historical figures.

Corruption in high places

There are “inconvenient truths” to be culled from the ZTE brouhaha. First, it affirms the rules haven’t changed over the years. A powerful broker is crucial to finalize fraudulent contracts. The First Family is the most reliable “partner in crime” to extract bountiful illegal profit from millions of starving Filipinos. Is corruption a favorite pastime of the First Family?

The PBS Ranking System is (will be) shutting down :(

I’ve just been informed by Dreamhost, our beloved webhost, that they disabled the database of The PSB Ranking System.

“We have disabled your database “_rank” and the button.php under the
domain ranking.pinoyblogosphere.com.  Please remove ALL topsites files
and such from all of your domains immediately.  We do not allow this
software on sites because it causes huge loads.”

Sorry about that guys. We can’t do anything but to comply or else we might loose our other sites as well. tsk tsk. too bad. oh well :(

This was my short reply to them…

“okidoks. got it! ;) i understand and i’m so sorry about that :D

And guess what? their response was… hmmmm…. interesting :)

“Thanks, it happens!  We are reviewing about adding to the terms of
service about topsites and other problem software, but it hasn’t been
done yet.  Sorry it wasn’t very clear.”

So… it’s not in the terms of service yet huh. :D I’m not sure if it’s in the (long) contract though. I have’nt actually read it *lol*. haaaaayyyy.

so what’s your take on this? should we just comply (shutdown the ranking system) immediately or should we try to ask DH to allow us until they update their terms of service?  watchatink guys? feedback naman dyan hehehe. tenk yu tenk yu ;)
nanghihinayang,

ADMiN
