There is a growing online movement to support Marco Torres in his goal of being chosen as one of eight foreigners/expatriates in China who will carry the torch for the Olympic torch relay. I think that with the growing number of bloggers and internet users in the Philippines, we can all help make this happen. Click here to vote for him.
If you didn’t click the link above, you’re probably wondering why we should support Marco Torres. You’re probably asking, “I don’t know him so why should I support him?”
Good question!
For most of us, the simple answer, “Because our countryman needs our support so that he can best all the other hopeful expatriates in China,” would suffice. But there are those who need more explanations before they give their support. So read on and I hope that after reading this post, you would be more than willing to support Marco Torres. Guys, Marco can easily catch up. All he needs is the vote of an organization with a thousand employees or students or members….
Besides, he’s only been in the race for about 5 days. A thousand votes shouldn’t be that difficult to get. If you think about, if all students in one average-sized school votes for him….he already gets his thousand.
That’s what I think he needs…backing up of major organizations. Watchathink….

Thanks to you guys a Filipino can carry that torch again for the first time since the 1964 Tokyo Olympics. Let’s make this a reality.

FYI, also learned that YOU CAN ALSO VOTE REPEATEDLY, at the very least once a day. Hence you can make it a habit to VOTE everytime you LOG IN.

Sa lahat ng mga matitinding blogger ng Pilipinas, tulungan niyo naman sana ang kababayan nating si Marco. Sulat naman kayo kahit isa o dalawa man lang linya sa weblog niyo, maisingit niyo lang si Marco nang malaman naman ng ating mga kababayan ang kontest na to na sinalihan niya. Kung sakaling palarin si Marco at mapili siya bilang isa sa walong mga expat, maituturing natin itong isang malaking karangalan para sa mga OFW natin.
Akala kasi natin, ang mga mahihirap na bansa lang ang nagpapadala ng OFW.. Hindi po totoo yan. Sa isang survey na ginawa ng http://www.oecd.org, pang-33 lang tayo sa mga bansang may mga expat at migrante. Ang top 3 na bansa na may mga citizens na OFW ay USA, Japan, at Germany – mga mayayamang bansa.
Sige na, mag-blogyanihan na tayo!

I would like to thank you for the support. Of 349 candidates, we are now at no. 14 with about 2,500 votes. We are getting closer to making the Beijing Olympics even more special to Filipinos. After all, bihira lang naman umabot sa Asia ang Olympics.
