ABC ZTE

September 28, 2007

These grown men should just have a fist fight outside the Senate and settle their differences then and there. Because if all of these men are deemed to be telling lies, who else will the public believe in?

JDV3 revealed Abalos’ high priced kickbacks in the ZTE deal. Of course, Abalos said that the Speaker’s son is lying. Then after Abalos, the FG was said to have bullied JDV3 to ‘back off’ from the deal. Then FG’s reps tell us that JDV3 is, again, lying. But we have no way of confirming this directly from the FG since he’s in HK doing something probably important, and not to excape the Blue Ribbon Committee hearings. Then Sen Cayetano calls on Neri to testify in court. Neri drops the bomb on us when he confirms that Abalos did bribe him and further detailed the meetings they had with the FG and other ZTE proponents at the Wack Wack Country Club and some other places in China and the COMELEC. Of course, Abalos had to say that Neri is lying under oath.

Okay, so who would the BLue Ribbon Committee call on next? Evelyn Silagon, Abalos’ reputed mistress who unwillingly got dragged into this messy affair, the ZTE execs or grill Neri a second time?

Impeaching Abalos is Sulpicio’s answer in all of this. But then again, why stop with Abalos when his bosses are still up there in the palace? Why would the guys in the lower house reject impeachment against the president, when clearly she is the root of evil in all of her subordinates’ scandals? You follow every rat trail in Philippine politics and it will surely lead you to PGMA. The sad thing is that the administration still thinks that the people can be appeased by doing favors for us e.g. giving pardon to Erap and having long weekends which, frankly, ruins the acandemic calendars of schools. The palace thinks that we are continually in the dark, supposedly mindless against the blunt corrupt practices our duly-elected politicians are doing in their offices. The money in that Abalos is reportedly to have had as commission is more than enough to help kids go to shool, build infrastructures, better the cheap medicines act in the Senate or just pay the country’s debt in the WB. But again, our money, our taxes are wasted as it slides into the pockets of these political thieves.

In the end, no matter who the Blue RIbbon Committee calls on next to testify, the ‘liars’ could very well be the keys to solve this problem.
