Do the Winners Deserve the 2007 Nobel Prize for Peace?

We heard all about it in the news last week.

Ever since its announcement there has been a debate on whether or not this effort for the environment deserved a Peace prize

One of the first reactions was Damian Thompson’s article from the Telegraph, although his piece is more of a personal attack on Al Gore, he raises an interesting point:

But there is a more fundamental objection… Climate change is a threat to the environment, not to “peace” and international order. The prize has gone to some sleazy recipients in the past, but at least you can make a case that their actions staved off bloodshed.
