Thoughts on Kubuntu 7.10

After about 3 hours of tweaking, I’ve finally managed to get a stable configuration for installation of Kubuntu 7.10. While I will add my hand on all the praises that Canonical has been receiving, I’ll be one of the first few who’d tell you that Gutsy Gibbon is not as perfect as it seems. Sun is replacing Java Micro Edition

Unless you’re a geek or simply a program, the places that you’re likely to encounter Java is on your browser and your mobile phone. Sun is planning a revamp of it’s current line up and is working to eventually replace the mobile-specific version of the software.“We’re trying to converge everything to the Java SE specification. Cell phones and TV set-top boxes are growing up,” Sun Vice President James Gosling said. “That convergence is going to take years.”Sun will slowly phase out Java Micro Edition (ME) and allow it’s functions to be absorbed into Java Standard Edition (SE) to cope with more powerful hardware on mobile devices. After all it’s not at all reasonable to run a lightweight version of Java when your device can run everything.

Gundam 00 - Initial Review

Gundam 00There’s still some bad after taste of Gundam SEED and Gundam SEED Destiny so I wasn’t willing to try anything under the CE time line. Lucky for me, Gundam 00 (pronounced as double ‘O’) is using the AD time line.

Seto no Hanayome - Series Review

Seto no Hanayome After seeing the whole series twice, the top tier comedy anime Seto no Hanayome ranks as one of the best titles I’ve seen in this genre and paves it’s way into my short list of faved anime titles. Seto no Hanayome encompasses the following genres: Romance, School Life, Comedy, Parody, and Action. Although some people might dub several of the elements of the series as cliche, it has several elements the puts it above the competition..

The series was made in 2007 by renowned Studio Gonzo x AIC, with character design by Morita Kazuaki.
