Meat Lasagna
I remember from the food seminar that I attended a couple of months back that real food writers do not need pictures to make their articles better. It should be enough to use the right words and sentences to make your readers feel as if they are seeing and tasting what you are writing about.
I will attempt this technique and hope that I can successfully entice my readers to enjoy food as much as I do without the help of pictures. But honestly, I just forgot to take pictures of the dish. (Hehe).
My dear hubby requested that I prepare dinner for his colleagues at the office on the last week of October. I was hesitant at first because I thought I would not have enough time to prepare and I did not want to embarrass my husband by creating something that is not well-prepared. However, I adore my hubby too much to disappoint him so I agreed.
Vargas Butter Cake
I am not an avid fan of plain butter cakes. I like my cakes chocolate or of the mousse-y type. My love for all things chocolate (including cakes), has been evident from day one.
I cannot remember where I first heard about the famous Vargas butter cake, but when I read about it in Anton’s post about the Rockwell Baker’s Fair, I felt like I had known about it for years.
Notes from Theater Talk Atbp.
About one Staurday ago , Bakla took time off from his busy schedule (feeling busy) to join other bloggers from the metro in a one-of-a-kind event organized by Gibbs Cadiz, Migs the Manila Gay Guy, and PinoyCentric.com.
Theater Talk ATBP with Floy Quintos was held at the PLDT/SMART Exhibition Hall at the PETA Center in Quezon City. It was Bakla’s first time at PETA and boy was he happy – thanks to cute, hot, and respected theater actors roaming around the center.
Seriously though, the experience was very uplifting and “culturally cultivating” (if there’s such a term). Not everyone is lucky enough to learn from one of the best people in the industry, so boy were we lucky!
This experience was very unique in the sense that it brought it me a newfound appreciation for theater as well as a renewal of my love of theater (and actors?)
Here are some quick notes I’ve taken: Read More>>>
Do you believe in supernatural beings?
Mysterious stories from supernatural forces, occurrences and beings are best shared during All Saints Day and All Souls Day. It would be easy for me to recall these experiences during this holiday.
***
I don’t usually believe about ghosts and other mysterious stories because my inclination is geared towards science – everything may have scientific explanation.
My relatives and close friends have shared their stories about the so called, “other worlds” where they have personally witnessed other forms of creatures which we do not usually see in our world. I respect their stories because I feel their sincerity when they have shared these stories to me. Besides, I have also my own story. I have repeatedly heard stories from my younger sister on her experience when she slept alone in a rented house in a certain province. She woke up when she felt that there was an obstruction near her feet. When she opened her eyes to see below her feet, she saw a bearded dwarf who played something like a plastic. She shouted when the said dwarf suddenly kissed her. It was funny!

My friend shared with me his experience when he saw something weird when he was watching TV at 2:00am. He immediately went downstairs when he remembered that he was not able to close the door. When he was about to close it, a green creature with bulging eyes suddenly appeared before him. Please continue here>>
I am a martyr
Someone recently called me a martyr.
Officially, a martyr is someone who makes great sacrifices or suffers much in order to further a belief, cause, or principle. If you really think about it that sounds kind of positive.
But how come here in our country, being tagged as a martyr is not a very good thing? Oftentimes we identify martyr-s to be wives who stayed with their husbands despite being beaten, or children who stay home to take care of sick parents, or boyfriends who wait 3 hours for their always tardy girlfriends. I am not exactly sure how this thinking evolved but I feel it is only here that people think this way.
So when I was called this, my initial reaction was denial. I am not a martyr! Instantly, reasons and excuses came to mind and I started picking out the best defense statement to make… as if being called a martyr was synonymous to getting the plague.
Then I stopped myself. Wait! Should I really be defensive?
Professor’s Cube — SOLVED!
Around 13 days after I bought a Professor’s cube, I have finally solved it.
But don’t expect to see a video of me solving it anytime soon because I don’t think I can do it again. I kinda relied heavily on pure dumb luck in the home stretch.
And about the time? Gee I don’t know. Let’s see, I started solving it around 11:30PM last night. Then I hit a wall around 1:00AM so I decided to go to sleep. I woke up around 6:30AM, dicked around with the cube for about half an hour, then I was like HOLY CRAP HOW DID I DID THAT?!
Anyway, in many ways, solving the 5×5 cube is a lot easier than solving the 3×3. It’s a lot more intuitive, and since you have more room, you can experiment more with your moves. The final stages however, require that you know how to solve a 3X3.
