Sleep In A Toilet For More Toilets

Don’t you know that in South Korea, there is actually a house called “Haewoojae” which roughly translates to “a place of sanctuary where one can solve one’s worries”? Or in short, it’s a toilet house. Well it’s actually a house shaped like a toilet WTF?!
My Two-Item Christmas Wish List
I don’t usually make a Christmas wish list, or any other kind of wish list for that matter, but for the sake of giving you guys an idea of what I want for Christmas this year (I better be in your Christmas list, you cheapskates!), I’m letting you know two things that I would really love to have by the end of 2007. Hey, stop whining. It’s either a wish list blog entry or The ANNOTATED Secret History of the Grand Order of FAIL.
The first thing I want for Christmas is an iPod.

No, I’m not a consumer sheep. I hated the buzz it got when it was first released, and I frown every time I hear about a new iPod iteration. Also, I get the urge to punch the nearest balls I could find whenever I see someone wearing white earphones. But, yeah. I think it’s time for me to succumb. Plus, I really want to carry around as many Porkchop Duo recordings as possible.

The reason why I don’t like Blogspot.com
I guess some of the bloggers out there will react with my post title, especially the bloggers from blogspot. I don’t hate Blogspot.com because the truth is I have blogs that are hosted by it. I guess, it’s the blog owners choice why it was customized like that. Here are some of the reasons: Read more
NUJP condemns stalking of media at Tanay court martial hearing
The National Union of Journalists of the Philippine condemns in the strongest terms the open stalking of journalists covering the court martial hearing of 28 officers accused of mutiny by men who appeared to be intelligence agents.
These men, described in news reports as having “the build, stance and even the standard haircut of soldiers,” brazenly eavesdropped on conversations journalists had with the accused officers and took videos of the reporters covering the hearing.
Notwithstanding the timeworn cliché about military intelligence being an oxymoron, we do not believe ineptness was the reason behind these men’s attempts to pass themselves off as reporters to bonafide journalists.
It was, rather, apparently calculated to intimidate the media, through the journalists who have been covering the mutiny hearings. It was as if they were telling the journalists: “We can toy with you and there is nothing you can do about it.”
We demand that Armed Forces chief of staff General Hermogenes Esperon Jr. order an immediate investigation into this incident and impose the maximum sanctions on whoever were responsible in hatching and carrying out this deplorable and, yes, we daresay, utterly moronic and ultimately futile attempt to sow fear in the media community.
We further demand that he issue a strong warning against any recurrence of such an incident and strict orders for all military and paramilitary personnel to respect press freedom and abide by the principle of civilian supremacy.
We commend our colleagues for not allowing themselves to be cowed.
Let us remain vigilant and continue to jealously guard and promote the press freedom we require to serve the people’s right to know.

Your Gay Community Needs You!
The 2007 Manila Pride March is almost here!
But wait, there’s more! There’s a need for more… More volunteers to help organize the event. Unlike many other big events out there, the Pride March does not have a lot of corporate sponsors. The more important need though, is the need for actual, real people to help out in organizing and running the event.

As of this writing, we have learned that the organizers really do need all the help that they can get for this big event. How can you help? Read about it here (from the 2007 Manila Pride blog):
volunteer!
We need your help! The organizers need people who can help us mobilize resources and widen community participation during the march. The tasks are simple – going around organizations, bars and establishments to encourage them to join the Pride March, helping in fund-raising activities, and saturating the internet with promotion materials on the LGBT Pride March.
Here’s an entry I wrote on AfterElton
Postcard Headlines Commemorates Half a Year of Blogging
I don’t remember why Postcard Headlines is named the way it is. Maybe it has something to do with my fascination for postcards and love for newspapers and magazines. I guess the name just stuck.
Today is not this blog’s date of conception or “birthday” so to speak, it having been created in the wake of my Election Day observations on the night of May 14, 2007.
But how time flies. From posting comments mainly on the 2007 elections and the controversies surrounding it, I have added my archived writings along the way, and have since then:
Conversation with a dissatisfied employee..
It’s so sad to hear companies luring applicants for an expensive training. Once you signed the training agreement you’ll spend two years first under their shackles before you can hop to a new opportunity. Worst, the base pay is not that competitive compared to new emerging industries i.e. BPO well of course you can’t blame them. Work environment is not conducive for working as well as for learning. Some companies have devised their strategies just to pin down yuppies to their companies. This is due to the fact that promising graduates has been lured to high paying salaries offered by the BPO Industry. So to compete and grab a few heads from that trend a training bond has been designed for you.
So why took the bait? Because of your tempting promises we bite. Career growth is not just about earning promotions because you’ve acquired certain technical skills but rather learning more skills and competencies as well as broadening your horizon. BPO sectors have been practicing this one since talents are so scarce. They’ve resorted to creating their own corporate university just to mitigate the risk of loosing in the end. Promotions have been very fast wherein some questions have been raised if they’re really capable. Are they mature? Can they handle people? Just a couple of the most common questions we should be asking to those leaders who are directing us. I pity those staffs that’s been administratively reporting or functionally reporting to those new breed of executives i.e. Portable Generation. Opppsss.. this is not the kinda story I want to project but rather the other side of the coin..
What Celebrities Were Doing Before They Became Famous
Did you know that Denzel Washington used to be a coffin polisher?
Or that Whoopi Goldberg was a funeral parlor makeup artist?
