This Time It’s Synergy One International

Remember that it was only recently that I received a call from one of those allegedly MLM companies trying to “recruit” me in their “rapidly expanding program”.

Today, I got the call for the second time around 8:30 p.m.  And you know what?  It was the first time, I think, I felt excited to be receiving a call from a stranger.  It’s an opportunity to play again.  -)

The person who called was a certain Ms. Vera or Venus Lazo (I’m not so sure about the first name but I know it starts with a V.  But I’m dead sure about the last name).  She spoke in a mix of English and Filipino.  Of course, I tried to be nice initially so that I could encourage the person on the other end to talk more freely.

And then the all too familiar lines begun.

I asked her where she got my number.  She said I was recommended by a “headhunter” company (I wonder why they keep using these buzz words.  It gives them away so easily).  I asked for the name of the headhunter company.  She replied that it was a company whose building is located somewhere in Makati (Duh?  She can’t even say the exact name and location of the company she’s doing business with).

Ade’s Christmas Wish List 2007

I can’t believe that it’s almost December already. Soon enough, I’ll be braving the crowds (and possibly a knife between my ribs) to get gifts for my (alarmingly decreasing number of) friends and family (who apparently read my blog and are one step away from disowning me). The gifts, as always, will consist of these items:

  • Socks (in orange, lime green and baby blue)
  • Handkerchiefs
  • Belly button lint
  • Mongo sprouts (I grew them myself)
  • This

But even though I work very hard to give people the things that they want for Christmans, I rarely get things that I like for Christmas, since Santa Claus is an asshole and never gave me a single thing ever. So yeah, my Christmases past are EPIC FAIL:

Wrong.

To make sure that nobody makes the mistake of giving me a used life-sized David Hasselhoff doll again, I shall proceed in enumerating the things I want for Christmas. Take note, people. Read more

There are numerous reasons why employees would want to quit their job. It can be caused by a bad relationship with colleagues, mental or physical issues, career change decision or wanting a greener pasture. This is always a crucial stage for everyone because of the fear of not handling your resignation properly because you wouldn’t want to burn bridges while your struggling to start anew. Resigning gracefully is possible, below is the top ways on how to do it.

1.It is a norm to resign in person, be professional and face your boss. Set an appointment to discuss this pressing matter and provide a written resignation that contains your intention of leaving, the date you are resigning, the date you would like to live and affix your signature.

2.Do not be a coward and announce your resignation through email, fax or phone. You need to be polite even if your leaving. And don’t ditch your job without a warning, more so if you are planning to work in the same industry.
