Christmas Pageant

If there are christmas presentations at the office, it is not surprising that there are presentations in school as well.

This is the second year that my son has participated in their school’s christmas pageant but it is the first time that he actually stayed on the stage to complete what their class has been practicing for weeks.

Christmas Shopping

I just realized that it’s only a few more days till Christmas, and I still haven’t shopped for a thing yet. So now I run the risk of losing a sizable number of friends, and I don’t want to lose any more especially after the last time I failed to give anybody anything for Christmas.

But the thing is, I’m sort of broke right now due to a certain really impulsive purchase I made around last week, and I’m contemplating robbing a bank or holding a head of state hostage so that I can afford to give anybody gifts. But everybody knows I am incapable of committing crime, so I’ll probably give head to random passers-by in a secluded Quiapo alleyway. But let’s just pretend I don’t do that and that I’m actually a dangerous convict who robs banks for the heck of it.

So I ran into the mall panting like crazy. It’s only a few days before Christmas. I’m becoming desperate, and time is running out. I need to get gifts. Fast. Before my friends kill me. As I get into the awesomely crowded department store – I push about twenty people, including a pregnant woman, an iPod-wearing metro fag with a pink t-shirt on, and an elderly lady – out of my way.

A survey, the anti-subversion law, and a piteous Christmas prelude

It has become a familiar sight, as the holiday season arrives, to see Christmas lights and decors lining up the streets and adorning homes and commercial establishments. However, such beautifications have become scarce with each year that goes by.

The strengthening of the Peso has not at all prevented the spiraling of commodity prices. What with a just concluded transport strike last week which reminds us of the reality of oil price hikes and the inevitability of a minimum fare increase.

Nevertheless, there’s always a reason for everyone to look forward to the Christmas season, as Inquirer’s new feature site, Paskong Pinoy, demonstrates. For bloggers, there’s the Vertito.com’s Christmas Contest. And here in Cebu, we have the Pastores de Naga Christmas Festival.

But then, I will not go into that for indeed, a lot more has transpired since the start of December. And it’s a pity these “matters” are now serving as our prelude to Christmas.

An Open Letter to Mr. Technology

Dear Mr. Technology,

Hi. I’m Gino Carteciano and I’m a big fan. In fact, I took up Computer Science as a sign of my devotion to you. I’ve been mostly happy with you and your almost magical wonders, but recently, I’ve been getting harassed by your failures that are quite simply irritating and frustrating. I think I’m starting to hate you and everything closely related to you. Well, except the Bionic Woman.

Beautiful Boxer sa 24th SEA GAMES

filipina.jpg picture by filipinayzd

No More Globe Unlitxt Service?

This would be a bad news if ever.

I still can remember, if I’m not mistaken it was a year ago, how subscribers reacted when Globe increased the price of their unlimited texting service.  At first, it was called UNLIMITXT which was offered at 15, 25, and 50 pesos for 1, 2 and 5 days of unlimited texting within the network.  It was then changed to UNLITXT which offers the same service at a higher fee. Globe charged P20 for 1 day, P40 for 2 days and P80 for 4 days. This move made a lot of consumers upset considering the fact that they (referring to Globe Telecom) claimed that this will be a “forever” service.

I dream of dancing in Broadway

If today I was asked what I wanted to be when I grow up, there is only one reply I would give. I want to be a dancer in Broadway.

Ever since I can remember, I have always wanted to dance. In fact, I love movies that are all about dancing. Flashdance, Sing, Swing Kids, Dirty Dancing, Stomp the Yard, Center Stage, Save the last dance, Bring it on, Chicago, Take the Lead are just some of the dance-related movies that I have watched.
