Divorce
I work for a company that employs people from around the world. Because of that, I had the opportunity to immerse myself in the different cultures of the people I worked with. I got to know Americans, Italians, Brits, Australians, Japanese, Chinese, Indians and many more.
Because of this diversity, very interesting conversations materialize during lunch or coffee breaks. One such discussion was about arranged marriages and divorce. You see back then, I had a colleague who had requested for a month long PTO (personal time off). When we asked, he revealed that he was going to meet his future wife and her family for the first time.

Teach your AdSense What Ads to Display
Ever get frustrated every time your AdSense units display advertisements that are not related to your blog’s theme or content? You know, ads like beaches and resorts showing up on your sidebar when your blog is talking about cooking?
AdSense makes use of a very powerful technology which determines what relevant ads it should display on your ad units. This tool scans your blog, locates keywords, and picks up the most appropriate advertisement to display. However, like any artificial intelligence, it is not that perfect.
Based on AdSense’s calculations, it may have assumed that your blog is talking about beaches and resorts because you have used a lot of these keywords on your blog post. Even with Adsense’s new feature that let’s you filter unwanted ads, you still don’t have full control over what advertisements Google chooses for your blog.
But don’t fret, you can still getting those cents from AdSense. All you need to do is to how it what keywords to choose.
StumbleUpon Traffic = Bad Traffic
Originally posted on my blog, Build that Geek. [original post] I recommend commenting through the original post.
I have been using StumbleUpon to promote my blog for three months now. It’s giving me traffic more than any other this-type-of-programs in the Internet. But why do I call it bad traffic?
- It gives you a lot of untargeted traffic. You may notice in your analytics tool that there has been more than 20 entries from StumbleUpon in a minute for your first minutes. That’s approximately one (1) visit every three (3) seconds from a computer. Care to waste your precious bandwidth with a bot?
- StumbleUpon visitors doesn’t comment. They tend to just read your stuff, then press the Stumble button (to go to another page).
- They don’t read your ads. Why would they care if they can find more relevant interesting stuff in just a click of a button? [Lower CTR]
Still not convinced? Then try making your own list! Hahaha.
But I’m still very grateful to StumbleUpon, they gave me this paradigm “pageviews are just numbers, what matters most are loyal visitors”.
Hady Mirza Is The First Asian Idol
Singapore Idol, Hady Mirza, has just bagged the honor of being the very first Asian Idol after competing with other five “idols” from different parts of Asia.

I really didn’t expect that he’ll win considering the fact that he came from a small country with a very small population, but I believe his appeal (as compared to other contestant) really helped a lot. Actually, I was betting for our Mau Marcelo and Mike Mohede of Indonesia. continue reading here…
