Nice Collection of Feed Icons
I was trying to hack my sidebar PHP page and trying to modify how my category would be displayed from this blog and suddenly, I bumped into one nice site from the web that catches my ignorance.
This page discussed several black blogging tips and contained also several collection of nice and cool feed icons. As we all blogger requires, a feed burner from our blogs is necessary need and would be pretty nice to have a feed icon link with it as well.

Autumn of the Patriarch
The nameless autocrat in the book who is crippled with old age reminds me of my country’s very own Ferdinand Marcos and Chile’s Augusto Pinochet who died last year, not without a tinge of irony, on Human Rights Day.
In the New Left Review’s latest issue, Manuel Riesco asks: is Pinochet dead? He discusses how the late Chilean dictator’s legacy lingers on in spite his death and how recent worker and student movements are challenging his terrible shadow.

The talk of the Philippine entertainment blogosphere these days is the “Wilyonaryo scam:†in a YouTube video, it seems that the wheel in “Wilyonaryo†has two numbers in it. Which means two things, if you asked me:

It seems that Willie Revillame cheats his contestants, and;

It seems that this particular video is the most-watched YouTube video in the Philippines today.
Of course, Joey de Leon is pointing to YouTube to be the source of all truth and the font of all knowledge, as far as the “Wilyonaryo scam†is concerned. As it seems, you can – if not should – believe everything you see in the Internet. After all, if it’s in YouTube, it must be true.

Absolut Geek
The meaning of the word, “geek,†has evolved over time. According to the Merriam-Webster dictionary, it originates from an old term in the English dialect, “geck,†which refers to a fool. The classic definition would actually fit the word “freak†because geek referred to carnival performers who eat live chickens and bite snake heads!
But geeks are not freaks. I’d like to think that geeks have a sense of style. Unlike nerds who know it all, geeks have specific areas of concentration. With the new meanings of geek, perhaps Wikipedia would provide contemporary definitions of the word:
(1) A person who is interested in technology, especially computing and new media.
(2) A person who relates academic subjects to the real world outside of academic studies; for example, using multivariate calculus to determine how they should correctly optimize the dimensions of a pan to bake a cake.
(3) A person who has chosen concentration rather than conformity; one who pursues skill (especially technical skill) and imagination, not mainstream social acceptance.
(4) A person with a devotion to something in a way that places him or her outside the mainstream. This could be due to the intensity, depth, or subject of their interest.
wowowee scam again?
Have you seen the Wowowee rehearsal video on youtube.com? It has been circulating the web for a week. The video is totally crazy, it shows the rehearsal of the wilyonaryo segment of the said gameshow. Present their is the host Willie Revillame, co-hosts Mariel rodriguez & Valerie Conception, the dancers and some staff and crew, and a contestant who seem to be in chahoots with the show.
In the video you can see how the number inside the wheel shaped box changes from zero to the number five and vice versa. So it’s clear after all that the cheating that happened in the show a couple of months ago is true. If you remember, Revillame mistakenly pulled the film with the number 2 and another film with the number zero was left in the box revealing that their are two numbers inside. It even lead to the word war between wowowee host Willie Revillame and it’s rival show Eat Bulaga! host Joey de Leon.
ABS-CBN explained before that the incident happened was due to some “mechanical glitch”, that two numbers had the same design but they’ve already made some modifications. But with this new video, the ABS-CBN executive owe us another explanation, the issue maybe old but this video is a new evidence of the game show’s scandal. It’s imposible that the video is a “hoax” because the image is so clear that you will easily recognize the people involved.Â
The question is who took the video footage? Is it a concerned citizen? Or someone from ABS-CBN who has grievances against the host or the network he/she is working for.
How far would this new issue would go? Lately Sen. Chiz Escudero said that the Senate will investigate on this one, the if the people involved in this scam will be proved guilty, they should be punished.

It was hard because I don’t have anything to do. But through the help of my favorite cola, I’m up until 1 a.m.
