wowowee scam again?
Have you seen the Wowowee rehearsal video on youtube.com? It has been circulating the web for a week. The video is totally crazy, it shows the rehearsal of the wilyonaryo segment of the said gameshow. Present their is the host Willie Revillame, co-hosts Mariel rodriguez & Valerie Conception, the dancers and some staff and crew, and a contestant who seem to be in chahoots with the show.
In the video you can see how the number inside the wheel shaped box changes from zero to the number five and vice versa. So it’s clear after all that the cheating that happened in the show a couple of months ago is true. If you remember, Revillame mistakenly pulled the film with the number 2 and another film with the number zero was left in the box revealing that their are two numbers inside. It even lead to the word war between wowowee host Willie Revillame and it’s rival show Eat Bulaga! host Joey de Leon.
ABS-CBN explained before that the incident happened was due to some “mechanical glitch”, that two numbers had the same design but they’ve already made some modifications. But with this new video, the ABS-CBN executive owe us another explanation, the issue maybe old but this video is a new evidence of the game show’s scandal. It’s imposible that the video is a “hoax” because the image is so clear that you will easily recognize the people involved.Â
The question is who took the video footage? Is it a concerned citizen? Or someone from ABS-CBN who has grievances against the host or the network he/she is working for.
How far would this new issue would go? Lately Sen. Chiz Escudero said that the Senate will investigate on this one, the if the people involved in this scam will be proved guilty, they should be punished.

Another scandal is now faced by the noontime show of ABS-CBN, Wowowee. Philippine Entertainment Portal reported last Wednesday that Nena Santos, July 7, 2008 winner of the segment Bigtime Pera o Bayong complained that her Brand New House and Lot Prize from the game show is NOT REALLY a brand new House and Lot at all. What???
The 56-year-old Santos said that after receiving the certification, she thought everything would be smooth and easy in getting her “dream house,” which is located at Santa Barbara Villas II in San Mateo, Rizal.
Take note, she won last July 7, 2008, and she only got her “Brand New House and Lot” only after 7 months! Weird.
“Pagdating namin doon [sa San Mateo], hinanap namin si Engineer Lalaine. Sabi niyang ganun, may laman pa raw ‘yong bahay dahil na-repossessed yung ibinibigay sa akin at may laman pa. Hindi na brand new, repossessed ang bahay at may laman pa,” she said.
The complainant was really disappointed especially when she recalled what Wowowee host Willie told her during the day she won as the second-prize winner of “Big Time Pera o Bayong.” She said, “Sinabi pang ganun, ‘Naku, nanay, magandang bahay ‘yan sa Saint Monique [Valais], kaloob ng Globe Asiatique, kumpleto ang gamit.”
What’s more shocking with her story is the paper she’s holding now, it’s not an ownership title, but A PERMIT TO OCCUPY only. Meaning, she can be evicted anytime.
Santos is now seeking help from DTI, she also took this opportunity to call the attention of Wowowee contestants who may have the same fate as hers. She suspected that she’s not the only winning contestant who experienced this kind of treatment.
SECOND TESTMONY
We posted here in Sassyqarla a week ago that a previous winner from the noontime show Wowowee was complaining about the prize that she received from the said show (Read Article). Nena Santos was fretting on the repossessed house and lot.
Willie Revillame WowoweeA day ago when Willie Revillame, the host of Wowowee made a brief explanation regarding the said issue. He said that it was a big misunderstanding between the complainant and one of the staff in charge from Wowowee. It was a huge mistake, he said when Santos failed to consult them first before making a public statement and slightly carnaging the reputation of the noontime show.
Revillame promised something sweet, he will fill the house with brand new appliances, furnitures and necessities as compensation. Some insiders also spilled that Willie Revillame promised to visit Santos and will personally scrutinize the issue in order to fix any bungle the show has on important matters like in giving prizes.
Not bad, Sassyqarla believes that a problem can be resolved in a congenial matter. We also hope that this kind of untoward incident will be avoided in the future.
