It’s Not the End of the World As We Know It

For this blog there will be no such year-ender ritual – not because I didnâ€™t want to but because I caught fever on New Yearâ€™s Day. However, Postcard Headlines did have a report of sorts last November when it commemorated its first half-year of blogging.

I hope itâ€™s not a sign of things to come. There are too many things to do other than lying in bed all day. Of course thereâ€™s no need to be utterly alarmist. â€œThe end of the world as we know itâ€ is a much-abused phrase by an assortment of personages ranging from so-called environmentalists sounding the alarms on the coming great flood to warmongering neoconservatives warning of the next big terror attack.
