sacred bull – is it familiar?
My six-year old son showed me a book. He clarified with me when he read the title, “Sacred Bull”. I just responded him that the book is for the “old”.
I remember when I was still a “post graduate” student during my younger years (when I was still single and younger at heart:), my classmate wanted to have an exchange token. She insisted to swap her book titled, “Sacred Bull”. That was in 1998 – ten years ago. When I read the title, “Sacred Bull” by a clinical psychologist, Albert Bernstein and writer/editor, Sydney Craft Rozen, I thought that it is another management book which talks purely about work. I became interested when the authors mentioned about “the perfectionist who micromanages everything, the complainer who always knows where to fix the blame but never how to fix the problem and the perpetually “nice” person – telling people what they want to hear.” The authors have also discussed enthusiastically about attitude and personality.
According to the authors, Sacred Bulls are beliefs that we follow without thinking because these are ideas that nobody checks or questions because “we’ve done it this way”. Sometimes, these are the source of many of the frustration at work. The authors have discussed each sacred bull in the entire book but I’d like to share each sacred bull in one line.

How to Spot a Fake Paypal E-mail?
Recently, Tim of BeThumbed PayPal account was hacked because of filling up a fake form which was purportedly sent by a Paypal staff. I’ve also received a similar e-mail, but I just ignored it. Good thing I was busy blogging at that time that I totally forgot about the e-mail. I also logged in directly to their website to read if similar announcement appeared in their “What’s New” section.
Paypal had been particular in securing their merchants’ accounts. They provided tips on how to protect your account.

UP Alumni Blogs
I blogged about the blue eagle and the green archer. Permit me now to blog about something closer to home. After all, it’s our centennial year.
I was in UP Diliman from 1986 to 1990 and finished with a BS Biology degree. No, I didn’t go on to the university’s med school. Pulse is my home on the web and I’ve never talked biology here. Frankly, I don’t remember much but I know UP made me what I am today.
Now, let me lead you to blogs of fellow UP alumni.
Common Misconceptions That Keep Pinoys Away from Blogging

Every time I bring up the topic of “blogging†with non-bloggers, I always seem to get interesting reactions out of them.Â
“Blog? Sabi ng ate ko pangit daw yun e.â€
“E parang diary lang yun, diba?â€
“Mas maganda pa Friendster dun.â€
“Puro sulat lang naman ang ginagawa doon, e.â€Â
Based on these reactions we could easily see that people have a lot of misconceptions about blogging which prevent them from seeing its greatness and are keeping them from trying it out.
But why do they have these misconceptions? That is because they are misinformed about the true concepts of blogging. Again, our lack of promotion is the cause of this.Â
I have compiled a list of the common misconceptions on blogging and have included some explanations and clarifications in hopes of clearing their false impressions.
My 2 new pets
Not a dog although I love to have one in my new Bhouse. Not a cat although my GF wants to have one and Persian preferred. That’s way toooo expensive for a useless pet. I’d rather have a dog. The bigger the better. And why is that? I find big dogs cute and I feel secured having them around. So what earthly creatures am I talking here? A Fish! That’s right. My GF just gave me this two earthlings for me to take care of coz her Company which is just adjacent to my Company doesn’t allow pet’s inside or Intel inside?
. So this is new obligation for me aside from blogging nonsensical topics here on top of those paid reviews that I’m gett’n.

Deputy Secretary Robert T. Rivera, the man who saved FAMAS‘ into its near oblivion, the person responsible for the increase of MOWEL Fund’s share from the revenues earned from Metro Manila Film Festival, a person who maintains coolness under pressure and remains apolitical despite political turmoil, was awarded the Presidential Award during the 55th FAMAS Award night. It was in his program where President Ramos first appeared to to lay-out his proposal to amend the Constitution into a federal/parliamentary system and submit to the people directly the issue of whether the term of office of the President be shortened, which shifted public opinion and neutralized the pressures from the center, the right and the left of our society that nearly erupted into anarchy during the Garci Tape Scandal. He was also among the first official in the Office of the Press Secretary to call and organize a press briefing during the sieged at Makati to inform the public of the present state of the government.
