PANGASINAN STATE UNIVERSITY: Cheating Frenzy

Â

PANGASINAN STATE UNIVERSITY:Â Desperation for VictoryÂ

Â

“In a world of cheats, cheating gets
promoted as a “force of nature.”

“Everybody seems guilty of being
specious, spurious, and unctuous. The
truth is not here, but out there.”

Take the world of elections: Candidate
A loses, and, as though by instinct,
he blames candidate B for it, accusing
him of either ‘dagdag bawas’ (vote
padding) or ‘kaskas bawas’ (vote
shaving). But Candidate B glowers
because he has been preempted!

But in a case where all is crystal and
you could see the trails of what they
did of what really happend. The
obviousness of the crime?

When I hear News of Cheating in the
Philippines, one word stands above
all. PANGASINAN. Cut me the slack but
i’ve experience it myself. My roots
are from Pangasinan. Even if I wasn’t
born or reared there I know the “swish
and flicks” of their enchanted wands.

They get their Judges from respected
people INSIDE the province, teachers,
politicians, dance and voice guru’s…
all locals of Pangasinan, or atleast
people they know and people they could
easily manipulate.

They bend the scores, change the rules
in a single flash… and then WIN the
award they don’t deserve.

The time changing of events w/c led to
disqualifications of contestants. The
lip-sync talent performance who got
the Best In Talent award. The obdvious
trails of cheatings left by the
masters themselves. If they are so
good at this why do they leave their
fingerprints behind. Is this a way of
saying “We Cheated Again.. So what?”

I reackon there is School of
Witchcraft and Wizardry in that place.
I would be happy to get a degree in
the “Art of Cheating” course that they
offer.

I couldn’t think of any other trick
that ive seen forehand but when i
heard the recent news i was thrilled.

Pangasinan State University. The host
school of the Philippine Asscociation
of State Colleges and Universities in
Region I – Cultural Competitions. Once
again the flashing of magical lights
and mystic powders of cheating was on
the air. And strangely engough I could
smell it from far away.

They changed the literature of “Pitik
Migaw: A courtship dance” by adding
floorings (steps in dancing w/ the
body in partial or full contact w/ the
floor. eg. Rolling, Lying Down) which
by the way is out of the concept of
the dance. According to sources they
varied the literature of the dance by
adding steps out of the Literature.
And that is major offense. I hope they
get told off by the Cultural Center of
The Philippines.

Wheather they did the crime or not.
The thing is it happened in the place
where I expect it to happen.
PANGASINAN!

PSU. Have you run out of ways to work
your tricks? What other things will be
expected from you in the future?

Why all that fuss when our daily life
is routinely run by cheats, when
cheating is a lot like breathing?

In a couple of ways it is acceptable.
But winning something you don’t
deserve is not on the list.

Okay, so cheating is not unique to us.
I cheat, you cheat, we cheat, they
cheat. It’s a universal…force of
fallen nature. The trouble is we’ve
turned it into a virtue that it pays a
whole lot to cheat. We’ve turned
cheating into second nature.

Now, we are reduced to wondering
whether honesty is indeed such a
dishonorable, disgraceful policy.
