Windows Vista Service Pack 1 goes Gold

After much speculations, rumors, hype and the likes, Windows Vista Service Pack 1 goes Gold. Today, Microsoft announced that Vista SP1 has RTMâ€™ed (Released To Manufacturers) and will be made available to the public in mid-March. Unlike previous service packs from Microsoft, Vista SP1 is more on bug fixes and performance enhancement rather than a â€œfeature addedâ€ release.

Service Pack 1 is a very important milestone because it addresses many of the key issues that our customers have identified with Windows Vista over the last year both, directly and through programs like the Customer Experience Improvement Program. With Service Pack 1, we have made great progress in performance, reliability and compatibility.
