The Itch: 2010 in the Making

Scratch it baby!

I agree with Benjamin’s observation that the 2010 elections “will be all glamor, glitz and sashaying all over again”. True enough, one of the worst parts in the history of Philippine elections is that part where political candidates assume the role of actors and actresses, aside from the fact that they also assume the role of clowns and all the rest of the thesaurus entries for ‘entertainer’. Every election is a replay of the past, refusing to simply wither, die and be forgotten somewhere in the recesses of human memory. Having said that, it takes no Einstein to chance upon the thought that elections are circuses for both the grown-ups and the retarded, a cadence of assorted politicians riveted altogether by the common goal of fancying the throne. More amusing is the fact that the recurrence is a trend willingly embraced by the political parties armed with the latest political mantra. The sight of politicians raking the minds of voters with political jingles in their campaigns is as equally horrendous as a pornstar’s acting stint, only that this time around flesh and meat do not come with obscene labels like the proverbial eggplant. They do, however, manifest themselves as sickening politicians who pretend to be either human beings or entertainers.

All in the name of the 2010 Elections

To some extent, I have to agree with Sen. Miriam Santiago. Though it pains me to side with her, lest I be called a turncoat with loose screws, the fact is, some senators do seem to ‘enjoy’ asking Lozada some questions. I also agree with Sen. Enrile when he was pissed that the senators were not given equal time to ask the Pinoy Jedi Knight some queries.  Are the ‘friendly’, so-called opposition senators doing it for the 2010 Elections?

The movement began way before JDV was ousted. When the ZTE scandal first caught the attention of everyone, the opposition have taken it upon themselves to purge the truth out of Joey de Venecia because the issue is against their enemy. It is only now that the wannabe presidents of this country have made their ambitions known to the public, I mean more obvious like Sen. Mar Roxas, Sen. Panfilo Lacson and Sen. Chiz Escudero. Whenever I watch the Senate Inquiry, I’m like, “Do these Senators have to repeat calling Lozada a hero?” And do they have to praise him again and again and again after each and every question e.g. Pinasasalamatan po namin kayo sa inyong paglantad…Hinahangaan po namin kayo sa inyong katapangan …etc, etc. etc. Honestly, can the senators please stop their early campaigns? You’re blocking our view.

The World of Lawyers, Politicians, Corporate men and Superstars are all alike: Short on Love

There has been a lot of hoot for Valentines when you’re really watching the TV, but all I like to think about is the kiss of Winter still fresh from the earth’s lips. I know that we’re a tropical country and all but…. I like to think with 4 seasons.

The infamous ‘I heart you’ advertisement wasn’t enough to make me go out and give a heart shaped cake to any women I see on the street.

But the saying about careers and love being inversely proportional (#1 high=#2 low) is not just a myth. Two job interviews at my level are not meant for a career but it’s a start. I believe that there are more people like me short on love.

Like Nograles and Atutubo….

If it is this dirty in the government. I would like to know why my father dedicated his life, love, and work to filthy people above the top and not for my mom and brothers and sisters. I know he loved us, but why can’t he provide for us. He dies to a second stroke at 2004. I want to scorn at the people who hang on to my father, leeching him of life, and to the people who made him miserable…. That includes us. Silly enough, why wasn’t he stronger?

Two of the Nation’s Biggest Jokes

Retired General Atutubo, Senior Supt. Paul Mascariñas, or “George” as Lozada calls him, and the rest of GMA’s bandwagon were grilled in the Senate floor yesterday. The fiery legislators had a spoonful of questions to feed the Senate guests while turning the room into a caucus of jokers every once in a while. But if there was anything laughable at the heart of the matter, none could surpass the gross incompetence and ignorance of the retired general of sifting the right answers when there are none, and of defending his false belief that the immigration office should speak for himself. It’s as if he acted mute enough to spit shy answers amidst the swelling voices of the panel. Senior Supt. Mascariñas is a comedian all the more. How in the world can he be able to protect Lozada from the ‘threats’ which Mascariñas himself has no idea about? Under the guise of protecting civilians, some people really are mentally challenged.

Six Feet Below

The push meets the shove
As I dig a hole in the ground
Lifting chunks of dirt
Thinking it’s worth the whole night
