The Power of the Collective

“We condemn and oppose all kinds of corruption. There could be no ‘moderation of greed,” – IBP president Feliciano Bautista.

Too bad. It is because of moderate greed that Jun Lozada is now being ‘investigated’ for charges of corruption and nepotism by the powers-that-be. The Palace has already denounced claims that the investigation is their form of ganti for being dragged into the ZTE Scandal by the Pinoy Jedi Knight’s testimony.  Amidst constant pressure and chilling threats to his and to his family’s safety, Lozada is still willing to continue appearing before the Senate on Monday, where he will he accompanied by his elder sister, Carmen, to testify that the PNP had forced her to sign the affidavit seeking security for her brother.

The DOJ (and I think from the Office of the Ombudsman as well) had issued a search warrant for Lozada’s former company, Philforest, to secure documents and financial statements that would ‘check’ Lozada’s credibility and sense of morality.  Philforest officer-in-charge Erwin Krishna Santos said that he handed the documents to the officer who came to their office willingly. Lozada is now on the defense as his personal life is appearing in full view of the public.

Not Love Struck All the Time

When we speak of love, we often describe it with all the giddy and happy details. However, it is not all about chocolate, roses, candlelight dinners, etc. Love is not as simple as that. It has 3 stages – romance, disillusionment and true love.

The love story of Mike and Tintin is a perfect example.

Mike was initially attracted to Tintin because of her features. Dealing with her on a regular basis exposed him to her other qualities, the stuff his dreams were made of. He had finally found a pretty girl with the sanctity of a nun. On the other hand, Tintin was not attracted to Mike physically but felt his presence steadying. She felt safe with him and loved him more as he became part of her family. Thirty six months later, they were officially a couple and thinking about marriage.

Ask PinoyBlogero: Is Cross-Posting Equal to Google Penalty?

One of PinoyBlogero.com’s readers asked, “Won’t blogs get penalized by Google when they cross-post on other blogs?”

A lot of Pinoy bloggers are doing “cross-posting” nowadays. Once they finish up an article, they’ll cross-post a copy of it on blog aggregators (like PinoyBlogosphere.com or PinoyBlog.com), on their other blogs, or on their multiply account.

Cross-Posting is done to increase the chances of an article getting more exposure. It’s like putting your product on different stores to increase its exposure and, of course, sales.

It is a good method of getting traffic, however, cross-posting actually produces duplicated content. You know, one of the things that Google doesn’t like.

Pacman loses $180K signature forged

I happened to stumble this article in Phil.Daily Inquirer today about Manny Pacman. By his trust to people closed to him, it leads to his devastating disappointment. Lossing more or less Php 7.2M: Manny ibuhus mo na lang galit mo sa gloves dun ni Marquez…

MANILA, Philippines — Manny Pacquiao has received another low blow. And, again, it occurred outside the boxing ring.
The Filipino superstar, widely known to be too trusting and generous to people close to him, was allegedly duped of about $180,000 (about P7.2 million) by a certain Pia Quijada, who is the second wife of his driver Joseph Jose, according to a Team Pacquiao insider.
The full amount was withdrawn from the bank during a two-year period.
Quijada allegedly forged Pacquiao’s signature to systematically siphon off the huge amount from a bank account in Wells Fargo, on Sunset Boulevard in Los Angeles, where Pacquiao initially deposited $200,000 in December 2006.
