The Limbs that Defied a Government

Yesterday, almost 10,000 citizens gathered along the streets of Paseo de Roxas and Ayala avenue in protest of the aborted $329 million ZTE-NBN scandal. Flanks of people of different shapes and sizes stormed the Makati area armed with banners and the fervent belief that they have had enough. And in case you’re wondering, the Visayas and Mindanao regions also have their share in the protests the same day. Whoever said that a national sentiment won’t ripple across the geographic boundaries must either be entirely mistaken or a gullible fool, or perhaps a bit of both worlds. But among the thousands of angered sheeps that flocked to Makati, Roel Balao and Antonio Lachica struck me the most.
