Is Sergio Apostol the next Simon Cowell?

Is Sergio Apostol the next Simon Cowell?

In case you’re wondering, Sergio Apostol has a promising knack for making people laugh with his insulting remarks, at least for those who are able to locate faint traces of humor etched somewhere in the ageing politician’s face which is, in its own right, reminiscent of the death of the spirit of Gloria’s EDSA. I don’t know why others find it amusing to hear one fooling around with the memory of the deceased, nor can I extract any rationale behind it other than purposively rubbing salt on wound.

Blogging in the Time of Living Dangerously

Things are heating up in the country’s Capital again in the wake of Lozada’s damning testimony in the Senate regarding the ZTE-NBN deal and his alleged abduction earlier in the week. One unmistakeable sign of the tension is the circulation of text rumors warning of a bombing today. Once more, the people in Malacañang are having sleepless nights and restless days since the ouster of De Venecia (of which an insightful analysis is written by UP professor Luis Teodoro) and the political situation’s subsequent turn for the worse, says veteran political observer Mon Casiple.

We have entered dangerous times, he writes. “At this point, the political crisis can already be characterized as the crisis of survival of the presidency of Gloria Macapagal-Arroyo,” Casiple continues. “Dangerous times often beget dangerous decisions. Vigilance is called for.”

Thank god blogging still isn’t dangerous here, unlike in some other countries where people get imprisoned for posting opinions in blogs. Speaking about blogging, I joined an informal meeting of Cebu-based bloggers last Feb. 7 organized by Ms. Janette Toral upon the invitation of Sir Max Limpag.

Long distance relationships

Its six days until V-day and the most asked question has been about how are couples celebrating valentines day. But not everyone is making reservations at Le Souffle. Like my friend K. Her boyfriend is in the States, has been for the past two years, and she is used to spending valentines at home like any other normal day.

Bloggers Most Powerful Tools

I’ve been blogging for months already but I have never realized that these two things I used to carry with me are the ones responsible for me to succeed in blogging, tools of which I neglected to appreciate its importance in this undertaking called blogging. My success in blogging might not be what others have expected or what others have desired, but these little milestones were achieved because of these two simple tools.

Worse Than the Malu Fernandez Controversy

Perhaps you’ve heard of the controversial memorandum(1) of the Philippine Overseas Employment Administration (POEA) regarding the Guidelines of the Direct Hiring of Filipino Workers. Please allow me to explain to you why OFWs need your support against this memorandum. We really need your help! Please forward our plea for help to as many people as possible…Click here and continue reading…

Windows Vista Service Pack 1 Downloads

You may have seen reports of Microsoft Windows Vista Service Pack 1 floating on the net by now. I stumbled a couple of links and torrents on several discussion boards but most of them are either RC1 (refresh 1), Fakes or just plain old Trojans. Surely, a lot of people doesn’t want to wait several days to get a hold of their own copy and install it on there system.

For couple of days, the only people who can get a valid Vista Service Pack 1 are some beta testers and people who have an MSDN accounts. Luckily, several people made this available to the general public, so you don’t need to wait until March to get a hold of Vista Service Pack 1. You have two ways on getting the Service Pack.

UA&P Knowledge Channel is here

We support quality education for all. UA&P students with the cooperation of the Knowledge Channel Foundation, Inc. created a blog as a venue for fun and learning. More importantly, for people to be aware of the needs of unfortunate public school students who do not get quality education due to lack of resources such as school materials. One of the solutions is instructional TV programming. Public schools are provided with educational TV materials such a TV set, a satellite or cable, and video tapes. Shows like Sineskwela, Hiraya Manawari, and Math Tinik are watched by the students to aid their learning. Please support us by visiting our blog and commenting on our posts. We also accept donations that will be given to the foundation.
