Things You Should Know Before You Blog

February 25, 2008

This is my first post here and I hope I could contribute somehow. I have been into this field of blogging for about four months and I enjoy every second of it. Right now, I have three blogs under my name and all of them contain useful tips about parenting, marriage and blogging. With this, I would like to start by sharing to you one of my earliest posts.

When somebody learned that blogging seems to be interesting, they start at once. Although it is really easy to start, but problems will arise as you go along. Before you know it, you get bored and confused then quit. However, just like any activity or business, blogging needs planning and a little bit of feasibility. Here are some things you should know before you blog.

F’s

February 25, 2008

I was out with my friends last Saturday night. Going out with them is probably the usual thing I do every night. And yes, even during weekdays. I enjoy their company whenever we go to one of our classmates’ house, doing some projects and research and stuff. I love my friends more than anything else next to God. And yeah, even more than my own family…

Paalala ng Pasimuno ng People Power

February 24, 2008

It would always be the same crooks, the same money interests who would take fullest advantage of democracy or any kind of government in the Philippines, while the poor and the brave would always lose out. The batters change in the game of Philippine politics, but the baseball team remains the same and the game remains fixed.

                                                      - Ninoy Aquino [1]

As we celebrate the 28th anniversary of the EDSA People Power Revolution, it would be good to look back on the wisdom of the man who inspired us to unite as a people and defend our country against a corrupt government. We are more aware of Ninoy’s oft-quoted, “The Filipino is worth dying for,” but I chose the one above because it is more suitable to our present times.  …   Click here and continue reading…

Would You Trust “You Drop, I Follow” Button?

February 24, 2008

As I continue dropping and looking for these sites that have the button, badge or phrase on their site, my drop rank had move to “A dedicated dropper with a hint of addiction” with 120-150 drops daily.  Finding these blogs somehow improved my position in the category I am with because they do return the drop. However, there are some sites claiming that they “do follow” but they don’t actually does. Read here…

Eating Kafka

February 24, 2008

While the old The Economist article’s title is actually a play on Marie Antoinette’s famous saying “let them eat cake,” why can’t our own government here think of something like the following government literacy program in Chile?

Let them eat Kafka
The president enlists the literary critics

ASK Chileans what they are reading and the answer will probably be Isabel Allende’s “La Suma de los Días”, a memoir by their country’s best-known living writer. If, that is, they read anything at all: in a recent survey, 45% said they never read books and 34% did so only occasionally.

Remedies and Preventions

February 24, 2008

Lo and behold, the President recently disclosed the fact that she knew all along about the allegations of corruption in the ZTE-NBN deal even before the signing was cancelled, and way before Jun Lozada, the younger De Venecia and Romulo Neri spilled the beans. But for some reason, GMA did not reveal who gave her the tip, only stating that she took steps to cancel the deal with the Chinese firm five months after she got hold of the information. And so the deal was cancelled and we now have a nation boiling over the anomalous deed of some traitors to the democracy. The magnitude of GMA’s revelation is a force to be reckoned by Abalos at the least, if not by her ‘implicated’ husband at the most. Not even a sanctimonious “burjer” can now provide nourishment to the anorexic denials of the crooks behind the ZTE scandal.

Movie: Untraceable (www.killwithme.com)

February 23, 2008

A thriller film to watch and to learn a lesson from for those internet-user addicts.

The story was about a psycho who kills people by inviting internet users to join him in doing so. The psycho will broadcast the killing of his victims online. Whenever more and more users enter the site, the faster the death of the victim. One victim died from overdose of an anticoagulant, one died from being burned from the heat of bulbs while his hands and feet cemented. And the final one died from sulfuric acid mixed in water. More acid poured in because more internet users entered the site.

The psycho did this because his father committed suicide and the media broadcasted it without any remorse. As part of his revenge, he killed those who took part of his father’s media exposure. I really couldn’t blame the guy for doing such horrible things but he seemed to have gone overboard.

It just shows how people are callous now a days. Just look around and you will see the truth.

Manikako Doll Exhibit and Workshop in Podium Activity Center ( photo coverage)

February 23, 2008

I first heard the group Manikako in the net and then I was surprised that they joined the ToyCon 2007 last year, I saw their booth on that day but too bad for me that I was so busy managing the ToyCon didn’t got much time to check out their DIY dolls and art crafts, but here in their exhibit I was stunned and happy to appreciate their craft in creating dolls into a toy, art and collectible.
