Malu Fernandez Share’s Her Observations on What’s Wrong With Blogging
Malu Fernandez, one of the most remembered (and most hated) figues on the Pinoy blogosphere because of her display of ascerbic wit on her article about OFWs, is back with a new one about blogging and the nature of Pinoy bloggers on her column in Manila Standard Today last March 10, 2008.
Apparently, it was the Gucci Gang controversy that has inspired Malu Fernandez to write about her article titled “The Problem with Blogging…“, where she said that “blogging is nothing more but a slacker job†and “a medium for lonely people to connectâ€.
Unfortunately for most of the bloggers without advertising you get paid nothing. If in fact you do get paid then hooray for you. But blogging, aside from Perez Hilton and the other big time bloggers (you know who you are) is for me a slacker job or a medium and pastime for lonely people to connect. Unless you’re in bloody Siberia or in a Gulag prison, try stepping outside your comfort zone and turn off the laptop or pc, you just might find some real live people to talk to instead of typing away in cyber space.

American Idol – Beatles Week
It’s time for the American Idol Top 12 to showcase their talents again before one of them gets eliminated again on the new stage tomorrow. Last night, it was Beatles night and it seems that the Beatles had them going for their money. The best performers from the previous weeks have been told that they weren’t doing too good this week. As an overview, here’s what happened…

When the Earth goes dark
If I find blackouts annoying these days, there is an event that will advocate it. It is called Earth Hour. On March 29, 2008, participating cities and businesses will turn off their lights and other non-essential electrical appliances for an hour to conserve electricity.

Malu Fernandez Strikes Again, Calling Bloggers Slackers and Lonely People
Malu Fernandez, the Manila Standard Today lifestyle writer who earned the ire of the Philippine blogging crowd with her elitist comments against OFWs, is at it again. This time, she’s turned the tables on bloggers and calls them slackers and lonely people. Continue reading the whole post…
Colbie Caillat @ Glorietta

Last night was Colbie Caillat’s first ever performance in front of a Filipino audience at the Glorietta Activity center as part of her two-day ‘Bubbly’ tour. Colbie sang several of her songs which include ‘Magic’, ‘Realize’, and ‘Bubbly’ which seem to be really popular to the Filipino crowd.

I completely agree with him. These are the lines that are contested:

Although she repeatedly denies that she’s taking revenge, she does admit that her perspective is from “the point of view of someone who has been a victim of vicious blogging and blogging as a new communication medium.” There you have it, an admission that her thoughts are tainted by the past issue.
Apparently, the only name she drops and equates as a big time blogger is Perez Hilton. What are her standards of quality blogging anyway?
Where in the world is Sen. Lito Lapid?
Has anybody seen Sen. Lito Lapid recently? I haven’t seen his shadows in the Senate inquiry into the ZTE-NBN anomaly. I haven’t heard of him in any of the news, both from the local entertainment and the political channels. Last January 30, Sen. Lito Lapid was elected as Chair for the Senate Committee on Games, Amusement and Sports. So, has he been busy lately with jai-alai? Or Lotteries? Or basketball tournaments? Or in derbies? Where art thou Ben Tumbling?
