Ahon Pamilyang Pilipino: Is the president Britney for not investing?

There has been a lot of hoots lately about the DSWD scam program. Some senators and the whole church really doesn’t like the sound of that, but our ailing citizenry is game and a-OK with that thing.

Nobody escapes scrutiny, except good escape artists!

I believe that this is the most desperate thing that the government did, next to the importation of rice…. If you think deeper, the biggest mistake was the lack of investment to the people. The government claims last year that it’s investing for the people. Where’s the investment?

Honestly, that I suddenly felt more excited and anxious about the whole migration thing that my family will be doing.

You read that right. Were going to Hawaii to live.

Don’t get me wrong. I love this country and I would scream to the top of Mt. Everest that I’M A FILIPINO [technically, there's about 25% authentic native NOYPI in me, but that's biology].

It’s just that today, I’m not seeing good things, except Howie Severino in Sagada.

Back to Ahon Pamilyang Pilipino. Churchmen and other senators do not feel that this move is to alleviate poverty. Instead of investing more in rigorous education and livelihood programs, they are spoon-feeding the poorest of the poor. I do believe that this thing is only for the Aristocracy government because they have a higher probability to be a rich government, but it’s a known fact that Philippines still have debts.

Cheaper Medicines Law, Andre Agassi and World Dance Day

The Cheaper Medicines Bill was passed by the House of Representatives in December 2007. And after four months of discussions in bicameral(Senate and House) committee, it now finally ready to be ratified by Congress. Then it will be signed into law by President Arroyo before May 1.The long delay was caused by the stand-off between the Senate and the House contingents in the committee. The Senate members, led by Sen Mar Roxas, wanted to change two things in the bill…

Our quote today comes from Andre Agassi who turns 38 today. He dropped out of school and turned pro at 16. In his 20-year tennis career, he won 60 singles titles, eight Grand Slam crowns and an Olympic gold medal…

Today is the 26th annual celebration of World Dance Day. It is organized by the International Dance Council (CID) and it aims to focus the public’s attention on the art of dance. Dance Day events may include special performances, open-door courses, public rehearsals, lectures, exhibitions, articles in newspapers and magazines, dance evenings, radio and TV programs, visits, street shows, etc. Here’s a little story about a dancing duck…

The Seven New Deadly Sins

I was doing my usual Monday morning blog-hopping activity when I saw this on Baddie’s, uhm, “universe”: The New Seven Deadly Sins: I’m Screwed.

Well, I didn’t know that the Vatican recently added seven new deadly sins. I know, I know, some of those who are informed are probably rolling their eyes and shaking their heads while breathlessly asking the wind, “were you just born yesterday, girly?” or something to that effect, but, sigh, I’ve been really out of the loop lately, I know. trump2

Anyway, according to FoxNews.Com, the Vatican’s list include drug dealing, genetic engineering, social injustice, polluting, pedophilia, abortion and being Donald Trump or Paris Hilton, err, I mean, being obscenely rich.

Smart Telecommunications acquires CURE

I didn’t expect this to happen. I was looking forward for a next generation 3G competition among Globe Telecoms, SUN Cellular, Smart, and BayanTel’s WCDMA. More players, good for consumers.

Early Morning Irritation

Grrrrh! The nerve! I wanted to strangle him right then and there! Same as what I told the Director of Rooms – yep, I told… – that I wouldn’t mind the snide comment if it were told or said to my face or if only other employees were present. I really wouldn’t mind if other employees would overhear because almost everyone knows that the Internal Auditors, like me, are sometimes very observant and we do sometimes, although unintentionally, make a fuss of things especially when customer service goes bad. And majority of the employees can emphatize with that…..
